Reviews for Facebook Container
Facebook Container by Firefox

by madscientist327, 5 years agoHas two annoying bugs which impacts usability.
1. If I happen to navigate to FB from a non-FB page, the extension will close the existing tab and open FB in the container. Before I realized that the previous tab was being closed I couldn't even figure out why the back button no longer worked! This is a huge issue. The easy fix is to just not close the previous tab. Looks like this has been a reported issue since 2018 so not sure this is going to get fixed anytime soon.
2. This extension conflicts with other container extensions derived from it and vice versa. Specifically, two identical tabs will be opened. e.g. when using the FB container extension and the unofficial google container extension, opening google from FB or FB from google will open two identical tabs.
Overall, I really like the idea of this extension though and if these issues were fixed I would be able to give a higher rating.

Facebook Container is an essential Firefox extension for anyone who uses Facebook but wants to limit its tracking powers. It isolates Facebook in its own browser container, preventing it from following you across other websites. This helps protect your privacy without forcing you to give up using the platform.
Pros:
✅ Effective tracking isolation: Prevents Facebook from tracking your activity outside its own site.
✅ Seamless integration: Works automatically in the background with no complex setup required.
✅ Boosts privacy: Keeps your personal data from leaking to Facebook when visiting external sites.
✅ Simple and lightweight: No noticeable impact on Firefox performance.
✅ Made by Mozilla: Developed by Firefox itself, ensuring reliability and trustworthiness.
Cons:
❌ Facebook-only isolation: It doesn’t block tracking from other services (you’ll need extra tools for that).
❌ Limited functionality on multi-account setups: If you use multiple Facebook accounts, switching between them can be clunky.
💡 Overall, Facebook Container is a fantastic privacy tool for Firefox users who want to enjoy Facebook without being stalked across the web. It’s easy to use, highly effective, and a must-have for privacy-conscious users. Highly recommended! - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 16042805, 9 days ago
