<p>faircado cares about your privacy. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data and information when you use the faircado Firefox extension.</p>

<p>What user data we collect</p>

<p>When you use the faircado Firefox extension, we may collect:</p>

<p>- Browsing history, including URLs visited<br />
- Location data (based on IP address)<br />
- Product pages viewed and pricing information<br />
- Purchase history and transaction details on merchant sites<br />
- Information on coupons/deals viewed or used</p>

<p>How we use collected data</p>

<p>We use data collected by the extension to:</p>

<p>- Provide personalized price comparisons, deals, and second-hand recommendations<br />
- Improve the extension and develop new features based on usage trends and preferences<br />
- Conduct analytics to monitor and optimize the extension  <br />
- Match transactions when confirming eligibility for offers</p>

<p>We do not sell or share personal user data with any third parties, except trusted service providers we engage to help collect and process data. These providers must maintain confidentiality and are contractually obligated to only use data as instructed by faircado.</p>

<p>Managing data collection</p>

<p>Users can disable browsing history and location collection in the extension preferences, but this may limit functionality. We are developing in-app controls to allow opting out of specific data types, coming later this year.</p>

<p>Even with opt-out enabled, we may collect basic analytics data and usage statistics, but not personal information.</p>

<p>Accessing and deleting data</p>

<p>Users can request access or deletion of their data by emailing privacy@faircado.com. Requests are processed within 30 days. We do not currently provide direct access within the extension itself, but are actively developing account management features for future release.</p>

<p>Data retention</p>

<p>We retain data as long as an account is active and the extension installed. Users can request account closure and data deletion by emailing privacy@faircado.com.  </p>

<p>If the faircado extension is discontinued, we will delete remaining user data within 90 days unless users specifically request faster deletion.</p>

<p>Data security</p>

<p>All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to authorized personnel. We aim to follow security best practices, monitor systems, and partner with trusted vendors.</p>

<p>While no security is perfect, we continuously assess risks and evolve our policies. Users should only install faircado from the official Firefox Add-ons site.</p>

<p>Children's privacy</p>

<p>We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have collected a child's data, please email privacy@faircado.com.</p>

<p>International data</p>

<p>faircado operates in and targets users located in Germany. Any data collected is processed and stored in Germany according to German and EU data protection laws.</p>

<p>Changes to this policy</p>

<p>We may occasionally update this privacy policy. Changes will be highlighted in the extension update notes. We encourage periodically reviewing this policy.</p>
