About this extension
Feedfence hides the parts of social media you didn't ask for, and shows how much time you spend there. Keep what you came for, like search, messages, subscriptions and posting, and lose the endless extras built to keep you scrolling.
What it hides
Pick a preset for each site (Light, Focus or Strict) or choose section by section. Need something back for a moment? Show everything for 5 minutes. When a section disappears, the page closes up around it, so there are no empty gaps.
Focus hours
Pick your days and hours, like weekdays 9 to 5, and every site switches to Focus or Strict, then goes back to its own settings when they end. It happens on its own, even on tabs that are already open.
Screen time for social media
A daily limit and a pause
Private by design
Feedfence only changes how pages look on your screen. It doesn't block network requests, touch video ads, or act on your accounts.
Feedfence isn't affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube, Google, Facebook, Instagram, Meta, X, Reddit or LinkedIn.
What it hides
- YouTube: Shorts everywhere, home page recommendations, related videos, comments, end screen suggestions and sponsored tiles.
- Facebook: Reels, Stories, suggested posts and group suggestions, friend requests, sponsored posts, Marketplace, Gaming and Watch, or the whole right column.
- X (Twitter): the "For you" timeline, trends, who to follow, Premium and Grok prompts, ads, or the whole sidebar.
- Reddit: ads, community suggestions in your feed, Recent posts, Popular and Explore in the menu, or the whole sidebar.
- LinkedIn: promoted posts, suggested posts, recommendations, games, profile view stats, or the whole feed.

Screen time for social media
- Active time on each site today, counted only while the tab is in front and you're using it, or a video is playing.
- This week against the same days last week, day by day and site by site.
- How far you scrolled, compared to the Eiffel Tower.
- Instagram time is tracked too.
A daily limit and a pause
- Set one limit for all social sites together, from 5 minutes to 12 hours. The toolbar icon fills as your day adds up.
- At the limit, a calm reminder offers to close the tab or give you 5 more minutes, and pauses video while you decide.
- Lowering the limit applies right away; raising it waits until tomorrow, so it holds when it matters.
- Optional: a few seconds before a social site opens, once per tab, asking what you're there for.
Private by design
- Everything stays in your browser: no account, no analytics, no network requests.
- Download your history as a CSV file or delete it anytime from Your data.
- Removing Feedfence deletes everything it stored.
- Open source under the MIT license.

Hiding is tested in English. Suggested posts on LinkedIn and Facebook are matched by button text, so they may slip through in some languages until they're added.
