Privacy policy
Last updated October 8, 2026
Finds is a bookmarking app: a web app at app.usefinds.com and a Chrome extension. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We don’t sell your data, show ads, or track you across other websites.
What we collect
Your account. Your email address, name and, if you choose, a profile photo. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account’s name, email address and profile photo. Passwords are stored only as secure hashes. If you turn on two-factor authentication, we store the secret for your authenticator app and encrypted backup codes.
Your library. The links you save and what you add to them: titles, descriptions, notes, tags, folders, cover images you upload, and your settings. This is synced to your account so it’s available on every device.
Waitlist and invites. If you join the waitlist, your email address, when you joined and who referred you (so we can invite people in order). If you invite a friend, their email address, so we can send the invite.
Sharing. If you share a folder, the email addresses you invite and whether the folder has a public link.
Billing. If you subscribe to Finds Pro, payment is handled by Paddle (see below). We never see or store your card details. We receive your subscription status, plan and Paddle customer ID.
Product usage. On the web app, we record which features are used — for example that a link was saved, a folder created or a trial started — with your account’s internal ID, so we can see what works and fix what doesn’t. We don’t record the content of your library (link titles, notes or searches), we don’t record your screen, and nothing is stored on your device for this. On our website (usefinds.com) we count visits and waitlist sign-ups the same way, without your email address. The Chrome extension doesn’t send usage data.
Technical data. Like most web services, our hosting provider processes IP addresses and request details to deliver the service, prevent abuse and keep it secure. We use these only for running and protecting Finds.
The Chrome extension
The extension only acts when you use it — clicking its button, pressing its keyboard shortcut, or choosing “Save to Finds” from the right-click menu. Then it reads the current tab’s address, title, site icon and, where the page allows, its description and preview image, and saves them to your library. It does not read your browsing history, track the sites you visit, or run on pages in the background. If you choose to import your Chrome bookmarks, the extension asks for permission to read them once and imports them into your library. When you open app.usefinds.com, the extension tells it that it’s installed (and its version), so setup can skip that step. Data the extension handles is sent only to Finds, to provide its features.
How we use it
To provide Finds: storing and syncing your library, showing previews of the pages you save, checking whether saved links still work, and sharing folders you choose to share.
To send emails you need: confirming your email address, resetting your password, folder invitations, and Read later reminders you ask for (with the saved page’s title and link). We don’t send marketing email without your permission.
For AI features, only when you use them: suggesting tags and summaries, sorting Unsorted links into folders, keeping readable copies of pages and searching by meaning (Finds Pro) use the page you saved — its address, title, description and text — and, during setup, the kinds of work you pick are used to suggest starter folders. This runs on Cloudflare Workers AI; it isn’t used to train AI models.
To run subscriptions, keep the service secure and fix problems.
Page previews and images
To show a title, description and image for a link, our servers fetch that public page. Preview images and site icons are loaded through our servers, so the sites you save don’t see who views them. Site icons are requested from Google’s favicon service by domain name only, not linked to you.
Who processes data for us
Cloudflare — hosting, database, file storage and AI features (Workers AI). Our website’s waitlist form also uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which runs invisibly to check that sign-ups come from a person rather than a bot; it processes technical data about your browser and connection for that purpose. Turnstile is covered by Cloudflare’s Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
Google — “Continue with Google” sign-in (only if you use it) and site icons.
Resend — delivering account and invitation emails.
PostHog — usage analytics for the web app and our website (feature use only, as described above), hosted in the EU. Requests go through Finds, so PostHog doesn’t receive your IP address.
Paddle — payments, as the merchant of record for Finds Pro. Paddle processes your payment details under its own privacy policy.
These providers process data only to provide their service to us. Waitlist addresses are used only to send your invite, and are deleted on request.
How long we keep it
We keep your library and account while your account exists. Items you delete stay in Trash for 60 days, and uploaded images your library no longer uses are deleted automatically. When you delete your account (Settings → Profile → Delete account), we delete your account, library and uploaded images straight away, and cancel any subscription. Paddle keeps transaction records as required by law.
Your choices and rights
Access and export: download your library at any time from Settings → Import & export.
Correct: edit your profile, links and folders in the app.
Delete: delete individual items, everything in bulk, or your whole account from Settings.
For anything else, including questions about your data, email hello@usefinds.com.
Security
All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed, sessions can be protected with two-factor authentication, and every request to your data is checked against your account.
Children
Finds isn’t intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country), and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Chrome Web Store user data
The use of information received through the Finds Chrome extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above, and tell you in the app or by email if the changes are significant.
