by adamhybel, 2 months agoFireShot is incredibly effective for capturing webpages, and its core functionality is genuinely useful and much appreciated.
However, I'm giving it 1 star due to a critical issue: it is closed-source. This lack of transparency is a major concern. We, the users, cannot verify the code we are running in our browsers. This presents potential security and privacy risks, as there's no way to audit the extension for hidden tracking or malicious behaviour. Trust requires transparency.
I genuinely love what this extension does, and I would instantly change my rating to 5 stars if the developers embraced free and open-source principles.
I strongly urge other users to request this change as well. Open source is vital for user security and trust in browser extensions. Developers, please consider making FireShot open-source. The concept is fantastic, but its closed nature prevents a wholehearted recommendation.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Mandy, 4 days agoGreat addon to have. I've used it for years and used it to save transactions, images etc. When a vendor tried to charge me shipping charges, I went to the FIRE SHOT image stating NO SHIPPING CHARGES & won my case for no shipping. I highly recommend it - saves images as .jpg or pdf. excellent addon for any user.

- Rated 3 out of 5by CAKE, 9 days agoIt's quite useful. Nevertheless, it fails to capture the full screen on certain newer websites, like Chatgpt.com

- Rated 4 out of 5by raywood , 14 days agoIt's great. It's free. My four stars are due to a wish list: there have recently been times when it hasn't worked - when it hasn't even tried to capture the whole page - and it can struggle with really wide sites. But it's still great.
Love it!
