Focus Mode – Hide Tabs & Address Bar by Alexis Demarecaux
Last updated: November 2, 2026
Focus Mode is a browser extension for Chrome and Firefox published by Alexis Demarecaux, sole proprietor (entrepreneur individuel) trading as ONYRI Strategy, 78 rue Beaubourg, 75003 Paris, France — SIREN 921 114 815 ("we"). Contact: contact@onyristrategy.com.
This page describes exactly what the extension stores, what it sends, to whom, and why.
What stays on your device
Everything Focus Mode needs to work is stored in your browser and never sent to us: your settings, focus statistics, streaks, favorites, notes and quick captures, intentions, your list of blocked sites, and your YouTube, X, LinkedIn and Reddit Focus preferences.
Your settings and Pomodoro presets are kept in the browser's synced storage. If you use Chrome Sync or Firefox Sync, Google or Mozilla copies them between your own devices under your account. We cannot access them.
On YouTube, X, LinkedIn and Reddit, the extension reads the page in your browser to hide the elements you chose (feeds, Shorts, recommendations, ads…). This happens locally. No page content, no URL and no browsing history is sent anywhere.
What leaves your device, and why
- License check — ExtensionPay. To know whether you have bought Focus Pro, the extension contacts ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com), our payment provider, using a random identifier created when you install the extension. Nothing about your browsing is sent.
- Payment — ExtensionPay and Stripe. If you buy Focus Pro, you pay on a page hosted by ExtensionPay and processed by Stripe. They collect your email address and payment details under their own privacy policies. We receive your email address, your country and the payment record. We use them only to deliver and restore your license, to answer you, and to meet our accounting and tax obligations. We never see your card number.
- Favorite icons — Google (Chrome only). In Chrome, to show the icon of a site saved in your favorites (Pro), the extension requests that icon from Google's favicon service (t1.gstatic.com), which receives the address of that favorite. In Firefox, nothing is sent: favorites show their initial.
The extension contains no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. We do not sell or share your data, and we do not use it for any purpose unrelated to the extension's features.
Permissions
- Access to the sites you visit (all_urls): open the current page in a focus window, show the optional page button, and apply your site blocker.
- tabs, activeTab, windows: read the current page's address to reopen it in a focus window, and restore everything when you leave.
- scripting: display the focus bar, timer and sounds inside the focus window.
- webNavigation: detect page changes so the site blocker and the social media filters keep working.
- commands: the keyboard shortcut (Alt+Shift+X; on Mac, Cmd+Shift+X in Chrome and Ctrl+Shift+X in Firefox).
- storage: keep your settings, statistics and favorites on your device.
- alarms: run the Pomodoro timer and daily limits.
- offscreen (Chrome only): play ambient sounds after the menu closes.
- extensionpay.com: check and restore your Focus Pro license.
Firefox data collection
In Firefox, the extension declares that it collects no data. You see this on its page on addons.mozilla.org and when you install it.
How long we keep what we receive
Payment records (email, country, amount, date) are kept as long as our legal accounting obligations require (10 years under French accounting rules). Emails you send us are kept for as long as needed to answer you.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you (payment records are kept for the legally required period), or object to its use, by writing to contact@onyristrategy.com. You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority (in France, the CNIL — cnil.fr).
Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
The use of information received through the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Changes
When what the extension stores or sends changes, this page is updated in the same release and the date above changes. Significant changes are announced in the extension's store listings.
