- Rated 3 out of 5by perlancar, 6 years agoNice little add-on, but a bit limited. Can only target grey text and not less-contrast text of other colors. Does not deal with text that are too small, or link colors. I'd suggest the "Text Legibility" addon instead.

Great job mate :)! - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 12450821, 6 years agoNice add-on except that the "Skip links", "Skip headers" options are broken as of Firefox 62? When enabled for all sites, it works but all headers and links turn black.

posted 6 years agoAll good here. Try uninstalling and reinstalling, the app might malfunction if you have updated.
If the issue persists, stay tuned as I'll be pushing an update (1.3.3) that addresses an issue with "Skip links" soon. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14119614, 6 years ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by Adam, 7 years agoFantastic. Thank you for this add-on. It's exactly what I needed.
- Rated 5 out of 5by EarthWindAndFirefox, 7 years ago5 Stars. This add-on is the best option in Firefox Quantum for correcting the flawed design of websites that feature barely visible grey text. An alternate add-on with the same objective exists, but it is quite buggy in post-57 Firefox.
The introduction of the blacklist feature in version 1.3.1 further cements Font Contrast as the best add-on of its kind. Thanks to the developer for the response to my previous review, in which I had requested this feature.
With regard to the comment by Joy, below:
The icon in the address bar can be hidden (right-click it and select appropriately). Thereafter, right-click the Firefox titlebar, select "Customize..." and drag the Font Contrast icon among your other add-ons. If you ever restart your Firefox with add-ons disabled, you'll have to redo the part about hiding the address bar icon, as doing so will restore the icon. Ultimately, though, what you want is easily done. - Rated 3 out of 5by Joy, 7 years agoIt does seem to solve the problem of the idiotic light fonts on light background, which 20 year olds with excellent eyesight think is cool. I await the day they can't read a page because of their own code. One problem, though. The icon is right next to the URL and before the "bookmark this page" icon, and is apparently unmovable. I'd rather have it over with my other addons, which I keep to the right of the search bar. Right now it's cluttering my address bar.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13942403, 7 years agoOoh thank god, I can't read most websites because the text is too light! Please, keep this addon up to date, it's really needed.

- Rated 3 out of 5by recycler.fox, 7 years agoCan be useful add-on for some pages, but is it possible to add 2 options?
1. to hide icon in the address bar (since Quantum not allowing additional toolbars, two icons for one add-on is now too much);
2. to set maximum font size (or exclude header tags?), so add-on don't alter big colored header lines, which make the whole page look unpleasant. Thanks.Developer response
posted 7 years ago1. The other icon I personally find very useful to control the strength, although I do agree that the ideal would be having only one. I’ll see if I can figure out something else.
2. That’s a valid suggestion. Remember you can still control how strong the addon is, in some websites I can exclude the headers if I set the strength to 0. You may also set the strength globally in the options. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13631884, 7 years agoBack to 5*. Tried it on a few pages and it seems to be working. Thanks. Original Review: It worked great when I first installed it but then the icon didn't activate it anymore. Even online reads that were just text no longer turned black. Tried having it always on. Then the problem became it darkened white on black text to black and that seemed to be unaffected by the slider setting. After days of trying various things I uninstalled and plan to re-install. Hope it wasn't update that caused the problem. If it was I'll disable and watch for next update because I really 5* liked this when it worked. Thanks for developing this to help those of us who detest grey text and a bigger thanks on behalf of those who are vision impaired.

posted 7 years agoIt's probably the update that caused the problem. I made some changes that could potentially break the older version when updating. Uninstalling and reinstalling should hopefully fix it. - Rated 5 out of 5by Bluezo, 7 years agoEssential add-on, even if one uses Stylus and particular userstyles.
Would it be possible to add a feature such as making letter a little bit "bolder" ?
In some cases, even with contrast added, letters look very thin ... (I guess it is a choice of web designers similar to the light colors on white background ...)
Have a nice day - Rated 5 out of 5by gmon, 7 years agoworks just fine on Quantum, only one little problem is that it seems to want to be on when I don't want it to be on, otherwise it is just what I wanted

posted 7 years agoThanks. It's a known issue. Still trying to track exactly when it happens. - Rated 4 out of 5by Oscar, 7 years ago
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13518170, 7 years agoHi
I have added this to toolbar, but nothing happens when I go to a page a click on the C logo, anu help please as I am desperate for something like this, Thanks Ron.Developer response
posted 7 years agoHello, first of all, keep in mind that if you tried it on addon.mozilla.org, Mozilla doesn't let any extension run in this website unfortunately.
With that in mind, try this:
1. Make sure you are running the latest Firefox version (57 or newer)
2. Try to enable on a website with obvious grey text, like goldbrecht-systems.com
3. If all else fails, try the new version 1.2. It's currently in the beta channel but I will release it soon. - Rated 2 out of 5by zic, 7 years agoI've problem with enable for all pages.. It not working.. ihave to always click on this plugin I use FF57
Edit.
Now input fields haven't contrast but other content yes - Rated 4 out of 5by Stephen R, 7 years agoIronically, the icon is barely visible if I'm using a dark Firefox theme. ;-)
