foxlink — Gmail and Calendar for agents by Pooria
Connect your Gmail and Google Calendar to the browser with your own Google OAuth client. Show your next events, read recent mail, and send an email only after you approve the exact message. Tokens stay encrypted in the browser.
Extension Metadata
About this extension
foxlink connects Gmail and Google Calendar to a browser add-on with OAuth. This add-on shows the foxlink library working, so developers can see it before they build an AI agent or another add-on on it.
Who it is for: developers who want an add-on or an AI agent to read mail and events, or to send mail with an approval, without a server of their own.
What it does
Requirements: you need your own OAuth client ID from the Google Cloud console, with the Gmail API and the Google Calendar API turned on. The project README gives the steps. foxlink has no client ID of its own.
What leaves the browser, and when

What it does
- Connect Google signs you in with Google to read mail and read calendar. The first send asks Google for the send scope.
- Show your next 3 events, the subjects of your 5 latest emails, or the text of the latest email.
- Send an email: the add-on shows the exact message (To, Cc, Bcc, subject, body, and attachments), and it sends only after you click Approve.
- Add an event: the add-on shows the title, times, time zone, attendees, and whether invites go out, and it adds the event only after you click Approve. By default nobody gets an invite.
- Disconnect revokes the token at Google.

What leaves the browser, and when
- Only after you click Connect Google: the sign-in goes to Google, and the add-on gets tokens from Google with your client ID (and client secret, if you give one).
- When you click a button, the add-on asks Google's Gmail or Calendar API for that data. When you approve a message or an event, it sends that message through Gmail or adds that event through Calendar.
- Mail and events show only in the popup. foxlink has no server and sends nothing to its authors.
Permissions
- Identity: the Google sign-in window.
- Access to Google sign-in, token, Gmail and Calendar addresses: talk to Google's APIs.
- Web requests (blocking): add the access token to requests to Google's API hosts, so the popup never holds a token.
- Storage: your settings, and the tokens, encrypted.
