- Rated 3 out of 5by lozog, 4 months agohello everyone, you may have seen that the developer of this add-on no longer maintains it, and it has stopped working. I forked it from his original source and made it work again. You can find that here: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-CA/firefox/addon/re-freshview-for-youtube/
thank you to Mikhail Andrenkov for his work! - Rated 1 out of 5by Peter Topfzerschlächter, 4 months ago
- Rated 3 out of 5by RinnovaRaine, 6 months agoUsed to work great and still does for my home feed but it's now blocking videos I've seen when I go to a channel's "Videos" page. There is no option to disable this. If I'm specifically going to a channel's videos page to find a video I've seen, it doesn't make much sense to block it unless I request it.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Subxero, 2 years agoIt does what it says, it allows you to see what you haven't seen yet.
It could only be improved by hiding shorts already viewed or by indicating to hide videos older than X days/months. - Rated 5 out of 5by Max, 2 years ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by w4t3r1ily, 2 years agoExactly what I was looking for, would it be possible to also hide Shorts?
- Rated 5 out of 5by Lux, 3 years agoWorks very well, does exactly what I wanted it do do.
Any issues I experienced are due to YouTube sometimes marking a video only watched partially.
One improvement I would like to see is the ability to also hide watched "Shorts". Those were recently added by YouTube, and hiding them does not work. - Rated 2 out of 5by ЯромиR, 3 years agoDoesn't hide a single watched video, even with "ViewThreshold" turned off )-:
Also "Themes" buttons doesn't have the look as shown in the screenshot, only plain text row ( I have disabled remote fonts in FF settings, if this might have any influence for...)Developer response
posted 3 years agoThanks for the review! And I'm sorry to hear the extension isn't working as expected.
Regarding your first point, disabling the View Threshold slider just locks the threshold value at 100%. This means that only videos which have been watched in their entirety will be hidden by the extension. Let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions for making the View Threshold toggle more intuitive!
Also, the Material Icons font from Google Web Fonts is used to render icons in the popup window so disabling remote fonts in Firefox will interfere with how the user interface is presented. To my best knowledge, the only solution is to re-enable remote fonts in Firefox. - Rated 4 out of 5by super6plx, 3 years agovery cool addon, works pretty good. only thing I wish it did was AUTOMATICALLY disable itself when SEARCHING for a video (on a search page but not an actual watch page) or simply looking at somebody's channel page. I have to keep clicking the hide toggle button, click 'remember this option for this page', then have to click re-enable it for all other pages... and then do it again for their /videos page, and for their playlists page, and every single other page, etc.

I have plans to address this use case in the next major update to the extension. Developer response
posted 4 years agoI'm sorry to hear the extension isn't working for you! I would appreciate it if you could reach out to me at M.Andrenkov.Dev@gmail.com so that I can look into the problem and publish an update to the extension which fixes the issue.- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16281235, 4 years agoSomeone needs to make a reddit post because a lot of people are looking for this feature but they do not know this extension exists.
- Rated 5 out of 5by CheeryP, 4 years agoI tried this because "Better Subscriptions for Youtube™" felt heavy and sluggish, only working a fraction of the time you'd expect it to, and FreshView works great! Super light, instant, 5 stars!
One request for the recommended page.. would it be possible to, rather than simply HIDE the videos, have the plugin set all videos within the threshhold limit as "not interested"? (clicking ellipsis > clicking not interested). That way they won't reappear ever again.Developer response

Although I agree this feature would be useful in principle, I think it would cause more harm than good. For example, people may want to share a watched video with some friends only to find that the video is no longer appearing in their YouTube search results.
Another issue is that this change would be difficult to revert: someone could install the extension, head over to YouTube, and, after a few minutes, decide the extension is not for them. At that point, however, it would be too late as several watched videos could have already been flagged as "Not interested" without their explicit consent. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14579323, 4 years agoI've been searching for a plugin to block watched videos for ages, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Google services are just infuriating in their disregard for user satisfaction.
