- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13994892, 7 years agoThe EverSync synchronization does indeed work, but in the free version it's very unreliable. If you somehow hit the free quota, the bookmarks are only partially synchronized or moved to the trash folder. It would be perfectly acceptable if the synchronization would fail completely, displaying an error message. But this way your bookmarks disappear without notice. This is completely unacceptable.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 12897888, 7 years agoThe Eversync sync system does not work reliably with large sets of Firefox bookmarks. It tends to auto-duplicate entire folders, and even if you add extra space, this duplication pattern is repeated on each additional sync. The limit for successful sync is also much lower than the supposed 1500 folder limit. The system is also very resource-consuming, perhaps through poor design. So, practically speaking, if you have lot of bookmarks, at present this add-on is useless.
I will return to Eversync when I see 5-star ratings being given consistently. Then I will be confident that they have fixed the various problems. However I am skeptical because my impression is that they may be under-resourced in terms of programmers, and there may also be an issue of programmer quality. Possibly they are reckoning that enough people will pay and so give them a window in which they can finance extra programmer resources. Is that a viable strategy? I don't know. Meanwhile they are polite and quite nice to deal with, so they get 2 stars from me rather than 1. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox on my Tab S2, 7 years ago

Sync Failed
Important, if you sync bookmarks between FireFox and Chrome!
FireFox folder "Unsorted" won't be synced by Chrome browser, but it will be synced by EverSync to FireFox. Read More >>

- Rated 5 out of 5by Allen , 7 years agoWorks vastly better than XMarks ever did. I have Firefox and Chrome both using native sync to align the cellphone and desktop versions, and I use EverSync to sychronise Chrome and Firefox on the desktop (which propagates back to the phone through the native sync). This all works perfectly. No duplicate bookmarks. Change a bookmark on any browser on any platform and it's eventually reflected everywhere. I love it.

- Rated 1 out of 5by marcus-21, 7 years agoI was hoping to sync bookmarks across several machines, some with Firefox and some with Chrome or Vivaldi. This feature doesn't work - trying to download or merge bookmarks to Chrome or Vivaldi results in either a crash or hung app, usually after it has deleted all your current bookmarks but before successfully downloading most/any of the bookmarks stored on the server.
It also slows down your browser startup noticeably, and is set to auto-backup your bookmarks to your local machine, but doesn't let you modify the backup location. I went to their forum to see if any suggestions were available, but discovered numerous threads with the same problems I'm having, but no solutions.
Might be OK if you are using Firefox exclusively - but if you're using Firefox exclusively, you can use Firefox's built-in sync, which doesn't slow down your browser and doesn't fill up your SSD with backups. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13978169, 7 years ago

- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13387315, 7 years agoI have been using Xmarks for years without a single problem, so the upcoming fizzle of Xmarks prompted me to look for a replacement. I use only Firefox (Quantum), on 3 pcs and 4 laptops.
I disabled Xmarks and installed Eversync on first computer (Win10) - OK,
Then the second (WIN10) computer installation appeared to be OK.
Closed FF on the first computer, then re-opened.
WHOA!! - ALL folders EVERYWHERE were empty, plus a message " Eversync limit is exceeded (1500), so 1147 bookmarks have been trashed".
WOW!! Yes - it actually said 'trashed'
Checked the second PC - same problem!!
Went to my wife's PC (Win7), still running Xmarks and forced an Xmarks upload.
Back to my PC and did an Eversync download. All folders were OK, but there was a duplicate set of empty folders.
Same with my second PC - a forced download had the same problem.
I persisted by deleting ALL empty folders on both computers, then did a forced Eversync upload on the original PC.
I checked the second PC after a forced download, and it's OK.
Then I spent the day removing duplicate bookmarks in all folders.
Did the forced upload, then forced download on the second computer
I kept an eye on both PCs for several days, and everything appears to be OK.
Then I opened FF on my wife's PC, disabled Xmarks and installed Eversync.
I now have all three working OK, but I'm nervous about Eversync destroying bookmarks WITHOUT WARNING.
I still have four laptops to do (two on Win10, two on XP).
Eversync did uploads in 10 seconds, but downloads with the problems went for more than 2 minutes 30 seconds.
After the cleanout of my bookmarks in my first PC, there's now less than 500, and Eversync now takes about 5 to 15 seconds on a forced download.
My recommendations - clean out ANY duplicate bookmarks before installing Eversync, and keep the total below 1500 (or you may lose bookmarks, er.. have them trashed).
DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT HAVE BOTH XMARKS AND EVERSYNC RUNNING AT THE SAME TIME ON ANY BROWSER. That is guaranteed to destroy bookmarks wherever both save their bookmarks
After installation, check if your bookmarks still match those in a second PC running Xmarks, before it gets the ROOTB in May. Safety first
This is a crappy start, so though I now have a working system, Eversync needs to do something about updating the initial saving of bookmarks, rather than add more, going over its limit, and responding with a "you have more than the free Eversync will allow for, so the program is going to trash your bookmarks. If you pay $xx, you can have an unlimited list".
That sort of threat/idealogy, and poor programming, will kill Eversync.
My first impression was "EverStink", or "Neversync".
Nimbus won't like those connotations passed around if they want to take over Xmarks exalted position. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!!
