Google Chat Exporter is a private, client-side tool for backing up and archiving your Google Chat conversations and spaces.

Whether you need a lightweight Plain Text (.txt) transcript for audits and documentation or a rich HTML archive (.html inside a .zip) with all photos, files, avatars, and video attachments preserved, Google Chat Exporter handles it directly in your browser.

Works across chat.google.com and mail.google.com (Gmail Chat), on both Firefox Desktop and Firefox for Android.

HOW TO USE

1. Open Google Chat or Gmail Chat in Firefox.
2. Navigate to any direct message (DM) or Space.
3. Open the extension popup from the toolbar (or right-click inside the conversation).
4. Select your preferred format: HTML (with media) or TXT.
5. Click Export Current Conversation.
6. The animated HUD will show real-time progress, and your .txt or .zip file will automatically download when complete.
