https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/google-images-restored-backup/ - Rated 4 out of 5by pjcamp, 9 months agoThis add-on was the bomb right up to the 0.5.9 update. Now it no longer works AND prevents Google Image from working. I see a page of images with a sidebar for the usual brain damaged Google version, but it is blank. Selecting an image does nothing, either the Google way or the Add-on way. I select and nothing happens at all. The only way to see the large version of images at the moment is to right click and open in a new tab.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 18352530, 9 months agoSince google web store only allows me to post one Comment there once Im to this site to say don't Get this extension, The stupid dev Refuses To fix or up date the extension I used it a While age and I keep getting errors that say I need a Trusted HTML assignment. and it keeps switching to the new layout no matter what I do so i give up on this extension and on google, obviously this is a pointless cause and we should give up on trying to even get the old google images back
- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 13795341, 9 months agoIt was perfect, but it seems the last firefox update broke it as the messed up "google image" on the RH side window is back....too bad.
- Rated 3 out of 5by kid cuisine, 10 months agoMarch 2024: restores the image showing in middle instead of right hand side (what I really wanted) but does not always allow you to click on or navigate through every image. Not sure what the exception is to some of these images. Also no title/description/website visible when image menu is clicked. Images can be saved still.
- Rated 5 out of 5by hackerb9, 10 months agoThis extension works correctly for me with one exception: "Related images" are not shown. The core functionality (layout and being able to view and save an image) is fine.

The maintainer of this extension may have abandoned it, but be extra cautious of alternate versions.
I see various reviews on here mentioning certain problems and suggesting that people use the "poeyfarre" version. I'm not doing that because I have no idea who poeyfarre is and I find it troubling that poeyfarre's review here claims that this version is "deprecated" without mentioning by whom. The correct word would be "unmaintained" as no one with authority has said anything one way or another.
Popular extensions in the past have been taken over by untrustworthy (or even malicious) actors after the original author stopped updating them. I'm not saying poeyfarre has mischief in mind; chances are they are just some helpful person trying to take up maintenance of an extension they use and enjoy. However, it is not helpful to poeyfarre's reputation in taking up the mantle of "Google Images Restored maintainer" that their website suggests that people use Russia's Yandex for image search.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 17656794, a year agoThis turns Google images into an empty white page. It is completely broken, useless garbage.
- Rated 4 out of 5by David Reilly, 2 years agoWorked well for some time. Unfortunately, as of June 2023, it seems to break the layout of Google images on mobile. Images don't load when clicking and certain kind of web search results seem to disappear. Occasionally the entire image search page would go blank, though this may be fixed by now. I assume this is because Google has changes to the results pages in a way the add-on doesn't like.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Kindle, 2 years agoI love the extension. It brings back a lot of nostalga from me scrolling through images in school. However, I would really like the option to change it to the pre-2022 sidebar design, before they made the shitty change that makes it look like it floats above everything like a bubble.
