🧪 Developer Installation (Temporary)
If you're developing or testing the extension locally:
- Clone or download this repository.
- Open Firefox and go to about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox.
- Click “Load Temporary Add-on…”.
- Select the manifest.jsonfile in the project folder.
Note: Temporary add-ons will be removed when you close Firefox. Use the store version for permanent installation.
Permissions
The extension requests the following permissions:
- activeTab: Required to execute scripts in the current tab.
- tabs: Needed to open new tabs for Google search results.
- storage: To save custom keyboard shortcut preferences.
Usage
- Select any text on a webpage.
- Press your keyboard shortcut (default is Ctrl + Shift + IorCommand + Shift + Ion macOS).
- A new tab will open with a Google search for the selected text.
