- Developer responseposted 7 years agoHello,
This is most probably known Firefox Sync. issue - if you setup GroupSpeedDial as homepage on several devices - with Firefox sync. enabled - Firefox will synchronize wrong URL (every add-on has different URL on different device).
I reported this bug a long time ago and it should be fixed in current Firefox (make sure you use at least Firefox 60 on all your devices):
 https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1412083
What should help is excluding Homepage from synchronization:
 https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/919674
(basically just go to "about:config" page and change setting "services.sync.prefs.sync.browser.startup.homepage" to false)
If this doens't help, please contact me to my support e-mail.

 ---
Damn, found the config. Thanks :)Developer responseposted 7 years agoHello,
Firefox 66 is now migrating add-ons data to a new storage and there can be cases when you loose you data:
 https://www.ghacks.net/2019/02/16/firefox-extensions-to-use-different-storage-type-in-firefox-66/
If this is the case, go to dials page / click the upper right corner menu and select "History / backups" - these backups are stored in a different storage and should not be affected by the migration.
If this doesn't help, please contact me to my support e-mail.
Also note that downgrading Firefox will also clear your addons data (https://www.ghacks.net/2018/08/06/dont-downgrade-firefox-63/)

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14624091, 7 years agoOutstanding addon, clean, simple, yet powerful. The ability to migrate dials from cyberscorpio's Superstart (as well as a bunch of other similar addons) is a real life saver!
I do have one problem with it though, and it's a bit annoying: because they were imported from superstrart, some of my groups have up to 800 dials. Group Speed Dial has a limit of number of rows in a group, which is 50, which squeezes all those dials to the point where you can't even see any thumbnails. Is there a way to increase the number of rows past 50 in order to keep the number of columns reasonable (like 5 or 6), and have normal-sized thumbnails in a large group?Developer responseposted 7 years agoHello,
Well it sounds crazy to have such amount of dials in a single group :D.
There were some reasons why to restrict number of dials in one group, but I think now with scrollable groups and improved synchronization it could be much much bigger.
I will try to upgrade in the next release 12.6 to at least 300 rows, but I'm not sure if there won't be some performance hit loading so many images in single group (especially when thumbnails gets bigger). Please let me know afterwards (you can contact me directly to my support e-mail). I'm very busy this week so I will probably have time for this the next one.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14615361, 7 years agoI was really happy with this add-on. It seemed that it had resolved all my problems with speed dials. But the problem with the profile corruption is a show stopper for me because I use a portable Firefox (the one from PortableApps) and it doesn't have a "reset" button. I recently scanned my PC with "Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool" and I guess (though I'm not sure) this lead to the corruption of the Firefox profile. The process of resolving the issue for a portable variant of Firefox is to complex and time consuming. So in the end, though I really liked this add-on I was forced to abandoned it.
UPDATE: I tried the solution with clearing the storage folder and it seems to be working. Once again, I don't know what caused this problem. Your add-on told me that there was a problem with the profile folder and stopped working. I can only assume that is the antivirus fault.
Thanks for help and for your work.Developer responseposted 7 years agoHello,
If your Firefox profile is corrupted, then the issues is not related to my add-on.
If you cannot use Firefox reset feature, you can try to clear your storage folder:
Go to "about:support" page, click "Open folder" button next to "Profile Folder" label and delete content of "storage" folder. Before doing this, make sure to backup whole Firefox profile folder and make sure your Firefox is not running.
You can also contact me to my support e-mail if you have more questions or if this doesn't help.
