- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13540295, 7 years agoThis is not Fast Dial, but Fast Dial is sadly no longer supported. Why not 5 stars? Because it doesn't load on Firefox start, you need to wait about 30 seconds for Group Speed Dial to load, pretty long right? Sometimes dials go missing during normal browsing and you need to wait for them again. Fix this (and don't screw up anything else) and I will rate 5 stars.
Other thing I don't really like is creating new account so you can have your dials synchronized. In Fast Dial they were bookmarks so you only needed Firefox account for this. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 13514556, 7 years ago

Refresh dials does not work, they refresh only when you are on the dial page, close that page and the thumbnails are gone.
I have to click multiple times on the dials to get them to open the web page.
If you have more categories than fit across the top tabs, there is no way so access the additional tabs unless you go to the drop down menu. What is the point of tabs if you cannot access them.Developer response
posted 7 years agoHello,
Regarding your issues:
1) refresh in background is not really possible right now, but once the dials are loaded they will stay there. If you have issues with that, feel free to contact me to my support e-mail. There are some known compatibility issues with Firefox and some cleaning and antivirus software.
2) click multiple times to open the dials page - this is the first time I hear this :) There is a good chance your Firefox needs reset:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings
3) you can increase Group list height in Options page to see all your tabs. You can also use "group-dials" to access your dials in the same way like files in folders - see my introduction video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvT4w-R8hJU
I hope this helps :)
Have a nice day :)

- Rated 4 out of 5by Redd Hott, 7 years agoAfter working out what does what, I'm quite happy with this, although I miss the old Speeddial. However, I hope that, in time, this will be as good as the Legacy Speeddial, and it seems from the other comments and responses here that the developer is working at speed to introduce some new "bells and whistles". The background refresh would be good, but appears to be impossible in the new FF architecture.
My main wish at the moment is to be able to resize thumbnails across the Dial Groups, and to make them smaller, which I would find easier to work with. - Rated 4 out of 5by Egorro, 7 years agoThis addon is going to be really great, but for now there are some problems (not critical). Some functions could make it even more useful:
- auto-updating thumbnails
- using browser history when adding the dial manually
- customizing hotkeys modifiers (i.e. alt+fN instead of ctrl+shift+fN) and handling multikey dial by checking ctrl (alt) is released so user can cancel it, not by delay.
- scrollable thumbnails etc
Looks like the addon is developing instantly, so I home some of these options will be available some time later)) Anyway, thank you for the best SpeedDial replacement for now! - Rated 1 out of 5by ucubit, 7 years agoUseless app.dials do not refresh,no drag and drop function, original Speed dial was 1000 times better. I tried to use it but is NOT GOOD .

posted 7 years agoHello,
Regarding drag and drop - you probably activated the "Super-speed" feature (in upper right menu). When this feature is enabled, you can drag and drop only when holding Ctrl or Shift keys. You can also disable Super-speed.
I'm adding new features almost every day now.
Also make sure to watch my introduction video here:

I hope this helps :)

Juraj Mäsiar - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 13572068, 7 years agoLoved the normal speeddial addon. Was just great. Please make a grey theme so to get a bit closer at least visualy. Also the thext in the dials on the top are way to big, how can that be changed?

There is no old version :), the add-on you used to use was made by different author and using different technologies and with much more time :)

Juraj Mäsiar- Rated 4 out of 5by mdv921, 7 years agoExcellent program. The thumbnail creation works much better than any other speed dial program I've used. Never fails to capture the full image from the website. The only criticism I have is that you can not set dials to reload automatically dial by dial. It's either all or none. A few of the websites I have dials for don't produce thumbnails that are pleasing to the eye so I have thumbnails I make myself for those and I don't want those dials to ever change. So I have to manually reload each dial I do want to reload and that does take time.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 13568799, 7 years agoMain issues I have with this add on are: Refresh all dials and refresh dial in general. Unlike the former Speedail, GSP fail to refresh dials correctly. Refreshing as group or all dials results in partially refreshed dials or a dial with data (images and text) that belongs to a different dial. The other issue I ran into is when opening a new tab. GSP causes two dials to open at the same time in the address bar (one showing GSP extension link in address bar and one blank) and after a delay it closes. So you have to wait until it closes before entering any info; like when doing a google search for instance. SpeeDial had another nice feature that allowed the user to set auto refresh dials (every 10 min, an hour etc), that I would love to see here. Thanks!
Update: Removed on 07/12 due to too many issues. Tip: remnants of removed add ons stay for ever unless you manually remove them. Log into about: config, type extensions, reset every add on you had removed for good and restart your browser.Developer response
posted 7 years agoHello,
The issues with double-tabs being opened seems more like a Firefox issue, so far nobody reported such issue (and I get a lot of e-mails :)).
You may want to use Firefox Reset feature to fix such issues:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings
Regarding reloading thumbnails - this is a tricky thing to do now since creating thumbnails in background is no longer possible in new Web-extension API. So reloading thumbnails gets interrupted if you close or switch tab. Auto-reload with "almost background reload" is coming in upcoming weeks.
If you experience more issues, please report them to my support e-mail. I'm fixing bugs sometimes within 24 hours.
I'm sorry for the inconveniences.
Have a nice day :)

Juraj Mäsiar - Rated 5 out of 5by Tiger13, 7 years agoНа разных компах ведет себя немного по разному, такое ошущение что оч много зависит от скорости интернета и мощности пк (достаточно медленно происходит первый запуск, потом все хорошо).
- Rated 5 out of 5by NeoOne, 7 years agoIn conjunction with the Ctrl-Number Add-on (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ctrl_groupspeeddial/), this Extension has provided my most-used "Speed Dial" functions. Thanks to the developer for creating and supporting this Extension! [Donation Sent]

- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13545653, 7 years agoAfter some testing in Firefox 57 I now prefer GroupSpeedDial; most of the functionality I need is there, except:
- access to local files (file:///data/xxx/index.html)
- group-specific background color
Great Add-on - Thanks
Wolfgang.Developer response
posted 7 years agoHello,
Sadly access to local .html files is now completely blocked by Firefox internal security for all add-ons. You can create such links in my speed dial, but Firefox won't allow you to click on them.
More boring info here: https://wiki.mozilla.org/WebExtensions/Filesystem
Situation in Chrome browser is very similar but Chrome added option (checkbox) to enable access to local files for specific add-on on their add-on page.
I hope something similar will come to Firefox one day, but until then, there is nothing I can do about it.
Regarding group-specific colors -this is being developed as we speak :), so it should be ready in several days.
Have a nice day :)
