Grove: Elegent tabs by itscool
Tree-style tabs in a sidebar: tabs nest under the page that opened them. Panels, per-domain containers, folders, notes, vim-style keys with link hints and find-in-page, and a manager for your Firefox bookmarks. Nothing leaves your browser.

About this extension
Grove puts your tabs in a sidebar as a tree: a tab opened from a page nests under it, so a research trail stays together, collapses to one row, and moves as a unit.
TABS AND STRUCTURE
- Drag to nest, reorder or move; collapse branches; select several tabs (Ctrl-click, Shift-click) and act on them together
- Panels: separate workspaces with their own trees. Tabs in other panels are hidden from the tab strip, not closed
- Containers by domain: tabs from a site open in the container you choose, automatically
- Folders to group tabs, and plain-text notes that live in the tree beside them
- Unload tabs to save memory without losing their place
- Search your tabs by title or address (Ctrl+F in the sidebar)
- Private windows get their own tree, kept in memory only and never saved
KEYBOARD (optional, off until you turn it on)
- gt / gT switch tabs in tree order, t new tab, x close, r reload, H / L back and forward, << and >> move a tab
- j k d u gg G scroll smoothly
- f labels every link and button on the page; type the label to click it, or Shift plus the last letter to open a link as a child tab in the background
- / searches: on a page it finds text (matches highlighted, n / N to step); in the sidebar it searches your tabs
BOOKMARKS
- A viewer and manager for Firefox's own bookmarks, with no second copy, so Sync and the Library stay in step
- Save a tab, a branch or a folder as a bookmark folder of the same shape, and choose where it goes
- Open a bookmark folder as "saved" tabs that load only when you click them
- Select several, drag them together, move, delete with undo
YOUR DATA
- Export to JSON, Markdown or bookmarks HTML; import back; optional automatic backups to your Downloads folder
- Everything is stored locally in your browser. Grove makes no network requests and collects no data.
Open the sidebar from the View menu or with Alt+Shift+G. Settings are on the add-on's preferences page.
