- Rated 1 out of 5by Paul, a year agoCurrently seems to not be working as blocking VP8/VP9 means videos are played in AV1. Even when AV1 playback is technically disabled in Youtube settings.
For me this is overall worse as AV1 seems to use more resources than VP9. - Rated 3 out of 5by Travis Llado, a year agoI've used this add-on for years, but eventually I realized that as of 2024 this is what's blocking Youtube from playing any videos above 1080p. I don't know why, but no video on Youtube will show the option of playing above 1080p when this extension is enabled and plenty of videos allow up to 2160p when this extension is disabled.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17093693, 2 years agoThis addon is amazing. Before installing, I could barely get over 5 fps with 720p videos. Now I get smooth 60 fps with 1080p.

- Rated 2 out of 5by gor1kartem, 2 years agoI used this extension on Opera, Brave and it was OK, but in firefox it makes youtube be laggy
- Rated 1 out of 5by wereii, 2 years agoIt will work but just so you know, this addon removes the settings for above 1080p video quality (like 4K).
It also seems like it has been abandoned by it's current author. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17164573, 2 years agoFixed youtube high CPU usage. I think Mozilla should add this extension to recommended ones.
PS. For your knowledge the max resolution you will get using this extension is 1080p.
