- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18467715, 6 months agoFirst, thank you for developing this. It used to work well enough, only getting stuck every once in a while. The update has completely broken the addon for me, nothing downloads like it used to, if at all. It looks like Dev is aware that the addon is now broken for a lot of people. Maybe consider rolling back?

posted 6 months agoThanks for taking the time to write this feedback. I'll consider reverting the engine (removing the mp4 transform). Many issues also relate to the new browser versions. Nevertheless, I'll look for a new solution.
Also, you can always install an older version from here: https://github.com/puemos/hls-downloader/releases - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18456370, 7 months agoTS file downloading function is gone. Please, make it back..
- Rated 1 out of 5by User, 7 months agoSince update to 4.x the Select/Save buttons no longer fit within the UI. It is now impossible to download anything. Several bug reports about this have been posted to the GitHub Issues page in the last month (one report even helpfully contains a code snippet that fixes the problem) but the developer has been ignoring them.

The capacity has decreased significantly, but where did it go?
What should I do to free up space? - Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 18425327, 7 months agoPop up to save file isn't working after downloading a stream
- Rated 3 out of 5by Firefox user 14139043, 7 months agoIt is a high-performance and convenient add-on, but it frequently freezes and is difficult to use.
I feel that the previous version worked more stably.Developer response

So before this new update, i was having no issues. Really Like the New UI. Just have 2 issues. 1. Whenever i try multiple conversions, there is a chance that it just stops working and i would need to restart the browser. 2. should have an option to use url as file name, it would really help when it comes to finding what was downloaded.
Other than that, this Extension is Top Teir and should be more up in the ratings but i feel it to be a little unstable sometimes
For anyone reading this, Set Concurrency to 1 and Fetch attempts to 150. Do Not Do More than 1 at a time - Rated 4 out of 5by Sesarma, 7 months ago4.1.0 is working neither as well as the old version I was running (I am wondering if I was running version 3-something since 4.0.2 is having the same problems), nor doing the things indicated in the snapshot images on the main Mozilla page. I am no longer seeing the trash icons on the download and "sniffer" tabs. At least on the sniffer tab there's a "clear all" button (still no trash icons on the individual items the way there used to be), but it only clears items from the sniffer tab. I had downloads freeze multiple times on a site (I don't think I am allowed to post links to it here according to the terms) that normally has no issues. I had to disable the extension entirely and start it again. In a few cases the download would reach 100% but even after waiting 5 minutes no save window would appear. I ended up having to download a single video at a time (I used to do two at the same time with no problem), ideally doing nothing else with my browser while downloading, then keeping my fingers crossed the save window would appear. 4.1.0 is nice in that it saves as .mp4 . I downgraded to 4.0.2 to see if that improved things some but it didn't and then I also lost the direct to .mp4 capability.
Otherwise this is a great add-on and I have really been appreciating it and the developer's effort for the past couple of months. I was so glad to find it! Other add-ons will do similar but they require you to install additional software, sometimes at a charge.
Using Firefox 115.10.0esr. Maybe some of the lack of features appearing and the rough interface is because I am using an older FF version (I have an old computer). I would have given it a 5 on the benefit of a doubt about that, but the new version is really making me consider downgrading to version 3, so I am docking a star for that.
Edit since the developer specifically requested this:

posted 7 months agoWow, thanks so much for this detailed review. I'll try to see what's wrong with new version (might be the ffmpeg conversion).

posted 7 months agoIt's nice to get such an honest feedback on work I do for free. In any case, can you share the website and the versions? Also, if you can to this page, does it works?
