posted 5 years agoThis is, unfortunately, caused by a bug in Firefox ( https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1417721 ) and while I have some workarounds in the extension they're not 100% reliable. I'm just as annoyed by this as you are; please vote on that bug to help get Mozilla to fix this issue! - Rated 3 out of 5by Franceska, 6 years agoA problem it replaces the favicon of a site that has one.

I just don't like the icons generated by this new addon... too much blur, the icons differentiate each other mostly by their colors. The icons should have fewer colors (two or three at most) each one, and the colors must be more contrasting, this way the shapes get more distinguishable.
- Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13550165, 7 years agoThanks for the extension, I missed the original one. It works without any problems so far, and is a great help in everyday browsing. I withheld one star because it's not perfect yet: the icons are a bit too similar to one another sometimes, especially when the foreground and background colour don't differ too much -- the result is a square of, say, yellowish hue that will look too similar to others if their dominant colours happen to be close. Perhaps this could be configurable? Like, a button in settings could be used to generate new favicons for a site until it's approved? I'd love more choice for the icons.
Thanks, and keep up the good work! - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 13512094, 7 years agoThanks for this addon.
Identfavicon was one of those addons I was sad to see disappear.
