SUMMARY
This add-on does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any data. Everything it reads stays inside your own browser on your own computer. There is no server, no account, no analytics, and no third party.

WHAT IT READS
While you use it, and only while you are signed in to Instagram, it asks instagram.com for:
- the list of accounts you follow, and the list of accounts that follow you (username, display name, profile picture URL, account id, whether the account is private or verified)
- the follow relationship for those accounts, to confirm each result
- profile details for one account at a time when you hover a name in the list (post, follower and following counts, and the bio)

The requests are made with the Instagram session already in your browser, either from an Instagram tab you have open or, for a scheduled scan, from the add-on itself. It never sees or stores your password.

WHAT IT STORES
Stored locally through the browser's storage, on your device only:
- the most recent scan result
- a snapshot of your follower list and a log of the differences between scans, which is what makes the "Unfollowed" list possible
- the accounts you chose to hide
- your sort preference
- your settings: whether automatic scans, verification and notifications are on
- a partially finished scan, so an interrupted one can continue instead of starting over; it is discarded once the scan completes
- the request headers the Instagram page hands out (an app id, a page token, and the CSRF token from your own cookie), so a scheduled scan can run when no Instagram tab is open. They stay on your device, are never sent anywhere except back to instagram.com, and are left out of the backup file

You can erase all of it by removing the add-on, or through the browser's site data controls. Settings also has a backup button that writes the same data to a JSON file you choose, and a restore button that reads one back; the file never leaves your computer unless you move it.

WHAT IS NEVER DONE
- No data leaves your device. There is no backend, and no requests are made to any server other than instagram.com and Instagram's image CDNs.
- No data is sold or transferred to anyone.
- No analytics, telemetry, advertising or tracking of any kind.
- No posting, following, unfollowing, messaging, or any other action on your Instagram account. The add-on only reads.

PERMISSIONS
- storage: save the scan result, the unfollow history, your hidden list and your settings locally
- tabs: find the open instagram.com tab to run the scan in
- scripting: inject the content script into an Instagram tab that was already open before install
- alarms: run a background scan twice a day so the unfollow history has no gaps
- notifications: show a notification when a background scan finds that someone unfollowed you; can be turned off in settings
- instagram.com: read your following and follower lists with your own session
- cdninstagram.com, fbcdn.net: load the profile pictures shown in the list
