Privacy policy for Image Max URL
Image Max URL by qsniyg
Image Max URL does not contain any form of telemetry. We do not track your usage in any way, other than what you explicitly tell us (see the website request section).
However, there are a few ways in which it can reduce your privacy:
-
By default, it will check for updates every day. This is done using the Github API. The only personally identifiable information transmitted to Github is your user-agent string (browser version and OS information).
You can prevent this by going to the extension options, and disabling "Check for updates" under the Updates section of the General tab.
-
In order to find the original media, it may query website-specific API calls. I cannot control how the website tracks you internally, but the addon tries to send minimal information. Information sent will include your user-agent string and the media you are querying, as well as possibly website-specific cookies (and/or localStorage).
You can prevent this by disabling "Rules using API calls" under the Rules tab in the options page. Note that disabling this will prevent many rules from functioning properly.
You can also selectively control this on a per-website basis by using the "Media blacklist" option under the Rules tab in the options page.
-
It contains an optional feature to request support for the website you are currently visiting. When clicking the button, it will send a link to the page you are currently visiting to the developer team, alongside an anonymized fingerprint (to prevent abuse).
You are always welcome request to support for websites through other communication channels instead (Github, Discord, Email, etc). The website request button was only added for user convenience.

This extension, like many others, might lead to websites being able to more accurately fingerprint you. I am not personally aware of any websites actively doing this, but please keep in mind that this extension could be detected by a website.
