PRIVACY POLICY

Impressieve, operated by Impressieve, spletna analitika, d.o.o. (»Impressieve«) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy (“Privacy Policy”) is designed to tell you about our practices regarding the collection, use and disclosure of information that you may provide via our website https://www.impressieve.com (“Website”), our portal (“Portal”) as well as our browser extensions (“Impressieve Extension« or »Extension« together with the Website and Portal, “Impressieve Services”).
We value our Users and your privacy rights, and we encourage all of the Users to get familiar with our Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy is part of the Impressieve Terms of Use.
By installing our Extension, using our Portal and/or using our Website, you acknowledge our collection, storage, use and sharing of your Personal Data and Automatically Collected Data in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy. IF YOU OBJECT TO THE TERMS OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY, PLEASE DO NOT ACCESS OR USE THE IMPRESSIEVE SERVICES.
DATA WE COLLECT
We may collect both Personal Data and Automatically Collected Data, as follows:
Personal Data – We may collect data directly from you, including data that identifies or can reasonably be used to identify an individual. The data that we collect directly from you includes:
Registration Information – You may choose to register as an Impressieve user. This will allow you to join and participate in the scoring of articles, authors and media and seeing their Impressieve scores.
Mandatory information required to register are:
your mobile number: we need it for identity verification, to prevent false User Profiles and for User Profile recovery,
your username and password.
Please, note, that we do not have access to your password, since we store it in an hashed form.
At the registration, you are invited to voluntary share with us also:
your email address: we need it for User Profile recovery, statistics, reports, newsletters and updates;
your age: we use this data for the statistical purposes and to improve your user experience;
gender: we use this data for the statistical purposes and to improve your user experience;
your location/region: we use this data for the statistical purposes and to improve your user experience;
your education level: we use this data for the statistical purposes and to improve your user experience.
User Support Information – You may voluntarily provide us with information when you contact us for User support, such as your name and email address. We will use any Personal Data received for User support purposes to communicate with and support you, and we will not share it with any third parties, except as reasonably necessary to provide user support.
Automatically Collected Data
When you install and use any of our Impressieve Services, we may automatically collect data related to your use of the Impressieve Services and your web browsing activity at the websites that enable our Extension. This data may include time stamp of the visit and length of visits to those pages.
We collect this information via default Extension features.
HOW WE USE THE DATA
Impressieve uses the data collected from or about our users for analytical, operational and business purposes in the following ways:
to provide and operate the Impressieve Services for the Impressieve Community, including the calculation and display of the Impressieve Scores, Media Scores and User Reputation Scores;
to further develop and improve the functionality and features of the Impressieve Services;
to analyze how you interact with the Impressieve Services, including to monitor and analyze usage and activity trends, and for other research, analytical, and statistical purposes;
with respect to Registration Information and User support Information, to provide our Users access to our User support, to respond to User inquiries, and to notify our Users of Impressieve updates and promotions;
to enforce the Terms of Use, to prevent misuse of the Impressieve Services and unlawful activities by Impressieve users, and to take any necessary action in the event of a dispute regarding use of the Impressieve Services;
to comply with any applicable laws, regulations, or requests from government agencies or legal authorities.
SHARING COLLECTED DATA
We share certain anonymized data (without the User ID) that cannot be associated with an individual with the Impressieve Community (i.e. the score and tags an anonymized user gave to particular article, the impact of particular score to the Impressieve Score).
We do not share your Personal Data or Automatically Collected Data with third parties, except as follows:
Business Partnerships: We may share some of your anonymized Personal Data (never your email address and your telephone number), Automatically Collected Data, separate, combined or/and analyzed, with our trusted business partners. For example, we may share analyzed data about readers’ age structure to a media company. This sharing is generally pursuant to written agreements that include confidentiality, privacy and security obligations; however, note that we do not control the privacy practices of these third-party business partners.
Legal Requirement: Solely to the extent required to comply with applicable law, regulation, or the request of a governmental agency or authority.
Policy Enforcement: To the extent reasonably necessary to enforce our Privacy Policy or Terms of Use, including investigations of potential violations or to take action regarding any suspected illegal activities or security violations.
Protection of Rights and Defense of Legal Claims: To the extent reasonably necessary to exercise our rights, to defend against legal claims or actions against us, or protect the safety, rights, or property of Impressieve or any third party.
Corporate Transaction: In the event of a corporate transaction (e.g. the sale of a substantial part of our business, or a merger or consolidation with another legal entity), including during negotiations of such a transaction. We will endeavor to require that the acquiring or surviving legal entity assume the rights and obligations as described in this Privacy Policy.
Contractors: With contractors, performing analytical, technical and other services for us and on our behalf, as data processors, provided that they comply at all times with obligations substantially similar to those described in this Privacy Policy.
Affiliates: With our potential affiliates or subsidiaries for research, analytics, and other purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy.

Our Services do not respond to Do Not Track requests.
DATA TRANSFERS AND STORAGE
Personal Data are stored within the European Union (“EU“). In the case that the Personal Data collected have to be transferred outside the EU, we will take the necessary steps to ensure that the transfer of such data provides adequate safeguards, and that you may exercise your rights regarding the transfer.
DATA SECURITY
All data that Impressieve collects are stored in our databases and Impressieve takes reasonable steps to keep it secure. However, no database or server is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your data in our system or while being transmitted over the Internet. Our best effort is given, but you use our Services at your own risk.
DATA RETENTION
Your Personal Data will be stored for the duration of your use of our Services and then erased as follows:
maximum one year after the closing of your Profile or your last score, if you did not close your Profile.
Your anonymized Article, Author and Media Scores remain available for the Impressieve Community and remain being used in our calculations after you close your Profile.
In the event that your Profile is suspended or deleted, we will keep your Personal Data for a period between one and five years in order to prevent you from circumventing the rules applying to our Terms.
YOUR RIGHTS
If you are resident of the European Union, you hold following rights regarding your Personal Data:
You are entitled to receive a copy of your personal data that is in our possession (right of data access).
You may request the deletion of personal data or the correction of inaccurate personal data (right to erasure and rectification). Please note that we may keep certain information concerning you, as required by law, or when we have a legal basis to do so (e.g., our legitimate interest to keep the platform safe and secure for other users).
You have the right to object at any time (i) to the processing of your personal data for the purpose of direct marketing, or (ii) to the processing of your personal data for other purposes on grounds relating to your particular situation (right to object to processing). Please note that in the latter case, this right only applies if the processing of your personal data is based on our legitimate interest.
In certain cases, you have the right to restrict the processing of your personal data (right to restriction of processing).
You have the right to receive and/or have us transfer to another data controller a subset of personal data, that concern you and that you provided us with, and which we process for the performance of our contract or because you previously consented to it, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format (right to data portability).
You also have the right to make a complaint to the relevant data protection supervisory authority or to seek a remedy through the courts if you believe that your rights have been breached.

MINORS
If you are under 18, please be sure to read this Privacy Policy with your parents or legal guardian and ask questions about things you do not understand. In addition, children under age of 15 are prohibited from using the Impressieve Services. In the event we become aware that a user under the age of 15 has shared any personal data, we will discard such information. If you have any reason to believe that a child under the age of 15 has shared any personal information with us, please contact our Data Protection Officer at jan@impressieve.com.
THIRD-PARTY LINKS
The Impressieve Services may contain links to third-party websites and applications, including social networking platforms. If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy practices and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these policies. Please check these policies before you submit any Personal Data to these websites.
UPDATES & REVISIONS
We may occasionally change this Privacy Policy. We will post the updated policy on our website. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy frequently to be kept informed of the updates. If appropriate, we will notify you about the changes and/or seek your consent. Your continued use of the Impressieve Services after the effective date of any update to this Privacy Policy will indicate your acceptance of the updated and amended Privacy Policy.
