by Firefox user 13635560, 7 years agoUpdate! the bug (triming items to just 5000 also seems to happen in firefox dev edition, I guess it had more items for some reason, but now syncing trims it back to 5000. Hope you can fix it (BTW i replied to your comment and sent you a message, but no response yet).

This is wonderfull! Thank you very much for doing what Firefox themselves should have done since a lot of time now (they now own Pocket FYI)
But I found what seems to be a bug.
For some reason, if I use the extension in Waterfox (the fork of firefox that still supports several legacy extensions), anytime I sync my Pocket, the count badge "trims" at 5000 items, even if I have more. Now, if I add new items during that session, they add correctly, showing 5001, 5002, ... 5027 or whatever. It is only if I sync it via the button, that it resets to 5000.
I thought that it may have deleted my oldest items past 5000 (everytime I manually sync), but I checked in Firefox Developer edition and the badge count in there correctly shows my current (6454 at this moment) item count. I currently don't have regular firefox installed, but I assume the badge count shows correctly there.
I assume that for some reason, in Waterfox, it just fetches the most recent 5000 items, while in Firefox it fetches all of them.
Could you look into it! Thanks again!

- Rated 5 out of 5by Seän "Frostbyte" Shepherd, a month agoThis extension makes the default Mozilla "Save to Pocket" button look like it was written on Scratch by a 6 yo (no offense to Scratch users). It's an *outstanding* example of pushing the WebExtensions API envelope beyond its capabilities, something only a capable and brilliant software engineer can do. Being a SW engineer myself, I'm fully aware of the difficulties of this. Bugs, syntax errors and random runtime exceptions are the bane of all developers.
It seems Mr. Buisson is experiencing one of those atm, as his intro to this extension states. But he obviously takes his work seriously and cares about his end-users, a rare and admirable trait, and I commend him. I would *still* recommend this add-on to anyone who loves Pocket and dislikes the simplistic excuse of an extension that serves as the service's default. Merci beaucoup, Pierre-Adrien! (I hope I spelled that right)
My French is sadly appalling, but you deserve no less than my best effort and expressing my gratitude in your language! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16165448, 2 months agoUse it everyday since it was first launched. I love the bookmarking button that also tells me if a page has been bookmarked, and the easy access to pocket through the dropdown is priceless. Thank you!

- Rated 5 out of 5by darlington95, 2 months agoVery nice add-on. I use it every day.
I am using multiple Firefox accounts. Pocket is essential for me as a bookmarking tool across accounts.
Being an add-on, it is very quick to use. It doesn't interrupt my thinking. I love the favorites coloring and title editing.
The archives are not searchable, but if it slows down the search speed I'm happy to keep it the way it is. Thank you. - Rated 5 out of 5by ikkqqstudio, 3 months agowell that's a good addon, i am using on waterfox because There is no Pocket feature in original waterfox release

posted 4 months agoThank you for the feedback. Definitely up there on my todo list for the next major version. However, not sure when it will happen as life goes in the way quite a lot. Still, I add your feedback to my backlog. I would also like to have a dark theme so it is likely to happen someday :) - Rated 5 out of 5by Seän D. Shepherd, 4 months ago

posted 5 months agoThanks for the feedback! It's on my todo list for the next major version, alongside a (possible) general redesign, but I'm lacking time to work on this for now. Still, thanks for showing your interest in a dark mode, I added a +1 on this item in my backlog!- Rated 2 out of 5by Firefox user 15229254, 8 months agoIt's become too slow and also causing the browser to be slow in general.

posted 5 months agoThanks for the feedback! I never experienced this myself though, so I suppose you may have lots of items in your account? I can suggest to use pagination in the addon settings, that should improve things a lot.
I'd love you to confirm my hunch about the fact that your Pocket account holds a large number of items, that would be super useful to me (you'll find the contact link on the addon page) - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 14895808, 8 months ago

- Rated 2 out of 5by Shajirr, 10 months agoOver time this addon became nearly unusable. It is extremely inefficient and requires an enormous amount of RAM to sync bookmarks, and freezes the whole browser for like 20 seconds during this process. Last time one of the Firefox processes went up to 9.5GB during sync, and a time before that this addon crashed the whole browser due to PC running out of memory. Use at your own risk.

posted 5 months agoThanks for the feedback! I guess this is due to having lots of items in your account? I can suggest to use pagination in the addon settings. Given feedbacks such as yours, I'm even wondering if I should display in app notification when users with lots of items don't use pagination, or even force the use of pagination for high number of items. Or maybe even remove "not paginated" option altogether.

request: option to disable context menu "Add to Pocket"!Developer response
posted 5 months agoThank you for this feedback, I'm glad you like the addon so much! As for the context menu, there is no plan to implement that: I don't find the time to work on the addon as much as I'd like so I need to prioritize ruthlessly, unfortunately. But I keep track of all demands, and added this one to my backlog as I always do. Thanks again! - Rated 5 out of 5by mozy234, a year agoBrilliant! Stunning! Superb! This should be included in the official Pocket add-on.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 16989749, a year agoThe entire add-on is worth it for the simple but crucial "random" function alone. Anyone who's racked up hundreds of Pocket saves knows that sometimes you just want a way to make a dent in your saves and the random feature is perfect for that.
Developer response
posted 5 months agoOh, that's a super interesting feedback! The random feature is not one I use so much myself, so it's great to know that users actually use it and find it useful. Thank a lot! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18152080, a year ago
