- Rated 1 out of 5by freakonwheels, 9 months agodoesn't work! tried to download on all available "qualities" and a funny little network error keeps showing up. waste of time
- Rated 5 out of 5by North Star, 9 months agoThe Open Library c/o *IA* appeals to me for its huge repository of out-of-print books. PDF-searches for most of them on the Web are futile. Time and again, though, I've seen some kind soul had uploaded the title to IA, saving what might otherwise go to the book boneyard.
Another humanitarian of books is the dev of this ext., without whom there'd be no way for IA users to archive their own copies. In doing so they ensure the viability of the texts. I'm impressed as hell. - Rated 5 out of 5by Danny S., 10 months ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by N777, a year agoOn Firefox 115.6.0esr (64-bit), all permissions enabled, download fails in every option available (1 hour, 14 days..). An error message comes up saying to contact the developer.

- Rated 5 out of 5by 4EverMaAT, a year agoworks perfectly after installing, enable all permissions, refresh the page, rent the book, and then press new download button (or ctrl + download) that appears next to favorites/share buttons. The file size can get quite large for big books (730 page book was 420MB). So maybe you can use a pdf or jpeg shrinker afterwards
- Rated 5 out of 5by groshi, a year agoWorks perfectly fine after 1) granting all permissions and 2) logging in and borrowing the book of choice.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15037318, a year agoFor it to work, you have to remember to allow the optional permissions in the extension page to be granted; otherwise, it does not work.
- Rated 4 out of 5by berrrry, a year agoExtension works after giving full permissions, but I'm struggling to utilize this extension since even a small book ends up being almost a half a gigabyte. Every page is over 20000x20000 resolution and I can't convert anything without it taking over a day.

posted a year agoTry use "Quality" button to choose a lower quality level and download again. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 17897099, a year agoIt works ! You really have to allow EVERYTHING in the permissions panel.
(Sorry to the developper, in the end, I have absolutely no issue, I must have been doing something wrong before !)Developer response
posted a year agoIf you find any circumstances that it doesn't work, please report to https://github.com/elementdavv/internet_archive_downloader/issues - Rated 2 out of 5by ilef, a year agoIt no longer works, even after making sure to grant optional permissions in extension page.
After clicking the Download button, regardless of quality picked, I get an error message which states: "randomlygeneratedname.pdf could not be saved, because it was not possible to read/access the source file." - Rated 1 out of 5by Fredisland, a year ago
