- Scope
This policy describes version 0.3.0 of the iR Download Manager Firefox extension and its companion Windows application.
- Information processed by the extension
The extension checks video and audio elements on accessible HTTP and HTTPS pages, including their playback state and position, to display its download button. This inspection takes place locally in your browser.
When you click the download button to request available formats, the extension sends the page URL, or a direct media URL if needed, to the companion desktop application. When you select a format, it sends the selected URL, media title, format identifier and file extension.
URLs may contain private identifiers, search terms or temporary access tokens. The extension does not intentionally read password fields, export browser cookies, access the browser’s history database or send unrelated page text. It does not maintain a separate browsing-history log.
- Communication with the desktop application
The extension uses Firefox native messaging to communicate with a connector on your computer. That connector communicates with the desktop application through an authenticated local connection.
These requests are not sent to a publisher-operated remote service.
- Connections to websites and other services
To find formats and download files, the desktop application contacts the selected website and associated APIs, redirects and media delivery services. Those services receive the requested URLs, network address and relevant request headers.
If you configure a proxy, relevant requests pass through that provider. Source websites, proxy providers and browser stores process information under their own privacy policies.
- Information stored on your computer
The desktop application stores download URLs, filenames and destination paths, format selections, download status and progress, error information, information used to resume transfers, preferences and a local connection credential.
It also stores proxy settings you enter. These may include a proxy username and password.
For compatibility with earlier versions, local application data is stored in a folder named “iRshu Download Manager” under your Windows local application-data directory.
Downloaded files and partial downloads are stored at the locations you choose. Media processing tools may also create local caches, temporary files and download fragments.
- How information is used
Information is processed to identify available formats, perform and resume downloads, display the download queue, apply your settings and connect the extension to the desktop application.
This version includes no publisher-operated advertising, usage analytics, account registration, cloud history synchronization, payment processing or remote licence activation. It does not send a browsing-history feed to the publisher.
- Retention and deletion
Download history remains locally until you clear entries or remove the stored application data. Clearing an entry removes it from the saved queue after any active worker stops; it does not delete the downloaded file or securely erase copies.
Cancelling a download may leave partial files. Downloaded files, partial files, caches and backups must be managed separately.
You can disable or uninstall the extension to stop its inspection of media players. To remove the desktop application’s stored settings and history, close the application and delete its local application-data folder. Removing the portable application folder alone does not remove saved settings, history or browser connector registrations.
- Security
The local connector restricts access to configured extension identities, and the desktop connection uses an authentication credential.
The application does not encrypt its local settings and history file. Protection depends on your Windows account and file permissions. Proxy credentials and private download URLs may be readable by anyone or any software with access to that file.
Network connections use HTTPS when supported and selected by the source. Ordinary HTTP downloads are not encrypted by the application.
- Your choices and privacy enquiries
You choose when to request formats, start downloads and configure a proxy. You can clear download entries, remove local data and disable the extension.

- Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated when the software’s data handling changes. Any future accounts, licensing services, analytics or other additional processing will require updated disclosures and any applicable consent.
