About this extension
A Firefox extension for itch.io users who want fine-grained control over which games appear in browse pages.
Features:
- Custom hide list by tag or genre: enter any tags (e.g. otome, horror) or genres (e.g. visual-novel, puzzle) you'd rather not see, one per line
- Auto-detection: the extension reads each game's tags and genres from its detail page and hides matches via CSS
- Manual collection: bulk-hide all games on a tag/genre page (e.g. itch.io/games/tag-horror or itch.io/games/genre-visual-novel) with one click; on a single game's detail page, hide just that one game
- Cross-device sync: your hide list and manually-collected games sync across all your Firefox-signed-in devices
- Local cache: auto-detected hides are remembered locally on each device for instant subsequent visits, with each device accumulating independently
- Status badge: shows page-hidden / total / parsed / queued counts at the bottom-right of itch.io pages
- Per-game review: open the popup to see the full hide list, remove any individual game with one click
- Auto cleanup: removing a tag or genre from your hide list automatically removes auto-blocked games that hit them; games still matching other entries stay blocked; manually-collected games are unaffected
Privacy:
- No data collection. No analytics. No tracking.
- All data stays on your device or in your Firefox account's sync storage.
- The extension only makes requests to itch.io and its subdomains.
How it works:
1. Open the extension popup, paste tags or genres into the textarea, click Save
2. Browse itch.io. The extension loads each game's detail page in a hidden iframe to read its tags and genres
3. Games matching your hide list get hidden via CSS, and their IDs are cached locally for fast future visits
