About this extension
Job Tracker Companion is the Firefox extension for Job Tracker, a free, open-source job application tracker you host yourself. It needs your own Job Tracker instance: it doesn't work on its own, and it isn't affiliated with any job site.
On a job advert, select the toolbar button and your instance's "new job" form opens in a new tab, already filled in:
• the advert's link (with the source, such as LinkedIn or Indeed, worked out from it)
• the role, from the page's title
• on LinkedIn, the company too
Jobs picked from LinkedIn or Indeed search results are saved with the job's own address, not the search page's, so the link still leads to the job later.
Privacy: the extension reads only the current tab's address and title, and only when you select the button. It collects no data, stores nothing but your instance's address (synced with your Firefox account if you use sync), and never contacts your instance or anyone else itself. It just opens a tab.
Setting up: the first time you select the button, enter the address you sign in to Job Tracker at (for example https://jobs.example.com).
