About this extension
Stop losing track of job opportunities. Capture any job posting in one click, track deadlines, and manage your entire job search from one place—no more scattered spreadsheets or forgotten opportunities.

The Problem:
Ever seen an interesting job but been too unmotivated to add it to your spreadsheet right then?

Do you have jobs saved across LinkedIn, Indeed, and Idealist—but can't remember which posting had that great salary or which deadline is coming up?

Have you ever wondered "Did I already apply for this?" and had to dig through emails and search history to check?

JobCapture solves this. One click captures everything about a job posting—title, company, salary, location, date posted, deadline, and more —and stores it in your personal tracker.

Key Features

📋 One-Click Capture
- Click the extension while viewing any job posting
- Auto-extracts: title, company, location, salary, date posted, deadline, and fields like company address, application requirements and notes that you can fill in manually as you go.
- Works anywhere on the web.
- The first release is optimized for LinkedIn, Indeed, and job boards in the social impact and humanitarian sectors.

🎯 Smart Tracking
- Track application status with "Date Applied" field
- Never wonder "did I apply?" again
- Urgent deadlines highlighted automatically (within 7 days)
- Date Posted helps you prioritize recent opportunities

💼 All Your Jobs in One Place
- Clean, simple tracker interface
- No more switching between job boards
- Click job titles to open original postings
- Edit any field inline—no forms to fill out

📊 Built-in Organization
- Sort and filter your opportunities
- Track: Position, Company, Location, Salary, Requirements, Deadlines, Dates
- Export to CSV for backup or sharing
- Import existing job lists

✨ Time-Saving Automation
- Auto-detects salary ranges (hourly, monthly, annual)
- Flexible date entry (accepts "Jan 25" or "1/25/2026" or "tomorrow")
- Smart year detection (knows posted dates are in the past, deadlines in the future)
- Company address lookup (helpful for unemployment certifications!)

🔒 Privacy First
- All data stored locally on your computer
- No accounts, no cloud syncing, no tracking
- Your job search stays private

Who Is This For?

Active Job Seekers:
You're applying to multiple positions and need to stay organized without the overhead of maintaining a complex spreadsheet.

Passive Job Hunters:
You browse opportunities occasionally and want to save interesting ones without committing to a full application process right now.

Career Changers:
You're exploring different industries and companies, and need to track a wide range of opportunities while you figure out your next move.

Anyone Filing for Unemployment:
You need to track company addresses and application dates for weekly certifications—JobCapture's "company locator" function directs you to the top Google search results for company address. Just check it's right and store directly in the tracker.

How It Works

1. Browse Jobs
Visit any job board or company career site. See a position you're interested in? Don't close the tab yet.

2. Click to Capture
Click the JobCapture addon icon. Review the auto-extracted details (edit anything if needed), then save.

3. Track Your Pipeline
Open your tracker anytime to see all saved jobs. Click titles to revisit postings. Mark when you've applied. Track deadlines. Export to CSV.

That's it. No complicated setup, no learning curve, no monthly fees.

Why JobCapture?

Built by a job seeker, for job seekers.

After months of my own job search, I got tired of:
- Losing track of great opportunities
- Switching between 5 different job boards
- Forgetting which jobs I'd already applied to
- Scrambling to find company addresses for UI certifications
- Maintaining messy spreadsheets that never had quite the right columns

So I built JobCapture. It handles the grunt work of the first few steps of job searching, leaving you with more time and energy to focus on what matters: writing great cover letters and preparing for interviews.

What JobCapture Doesn't Do

This isn't a personalized career coach or AI tool. It won't:
- Write your cover letters
- Auto-apply to jobs
- Give you career advice
- Send you job alerts

JobCapture is a capture and organization tool. Think of it as your personal job posting database—simple, focused, time-saving—and keeps your job search on track.
