Privacy policy for JustWatch Add to Seerr
Last updated: October 10, 2026
This policy describes how the JustWatch Add to Seerr browser extension (for Chrome and Firefox) handles information.
- JustWatch page information: On JustWatch movie and TV title pages, the extension reads the page URL, document title, and visible page heading when available. It uses this information to identify the title and show it in the extension and its optional on-page button. The title is processed in your browser and is not saved in the extension's local storage.
- Your settings: The Seerr server URL you enter and your preference for showing the on-page button are saved in the extension's local storage in your browser, on your device. They are not sent to the extension developer.
- Search title: Only when you click Open in Seerr, the extension places the title in a search URL and opens it at the Seerr server you configured. The extension does not automatically submit a request or create a request in Seerr.
The title is sent to the Seerr server you chose only when you explicitly open the search. That server is operated according to its administrator's configuration and policies. The extension developer does not receive the title, page URL, or your saved Seerr URL.
The extension does not use analytics or advertising, and does not send telemetry to the developer. It has no developer-operated backend or remote code. It does not ask for or use Seerr credentials or API keys.
You may configure an HTTP or HTTPS Seerr address. HTTPS encrypts the connection. With HTTP, the search URL—including the title—travels unencrypted and may be visible to systems or people able to observe your network traffic. The extension warns about HTTP; use it only on a network you trust. HTTPS is recommended.
Your Seerr URL and on-page-button preference remain in the extension's local storage in your browser until you change or clear the extension's data, or remove the extension. The page title and URL are used transiently to provide the feature and are not saved in extension storage. You can turn off the on-page button in the extension's settings.
The extension uses page information only to provide its disclosed purpose: opening a JustWatch title in the Seerr server you configure. It does not sell this information, use it for advertising or unrelated purposes, or make it available to the developer. The title is transferred only to the Seerr server you selected and only after you choose to open the search. Our use of information handled by the extension complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements, and with Mozilla's Add-on Policies. The extension does not collect or transmit data to the developer, which is declared in its Firefox manifest as no required data collection.
JustWatch and your configured Seerr server are separate services. Your browser connects to JustWatch when you visit its site, independently of this extension. The extension itself does not send your page information to JustWatch or the extension developer. This extension is not affiliated with or endorsed by JustWatch or Seerr. Their own privacy practices apply to information they receive directly.
If the extension's data practices change, this policy will be updated and the change will be prominently disclosed to users. For privacy questions, contact the developer through the vahnx Projects Discord. Please do not post personal information publicly.
