  1. Overview

Kakobuy+ is a browser extension designed to enhance the Kakobuy shopping experience through interface customization, display preferences, shortcuts, shipping coupons, and access to product quality-control (QC) photos through Spreadfinds.

This Privacy Policy describes how information is processed, stored, and shared when using Kakobuy+.
  1. Information Processed by the Extension

Kakobuy+ processes limited information necessary for its functionality, including:
  • The URL of the active browser tab when the extension popup is opened.
  • Kakobuy product-page URLs used to provide QC photo links.
  • Relevant webpage elements required for visual customization and pop-up handling.
  • Browser language preferences.
  • User-selected extension settings.

Most processing occurs locally within your browser.

The extension does not intentionally access, store, or transmit passwords, payment-card information, or account credentials. It does not access your general browsing history.
  1. Local Data Storage

Kakobuy+ uses Firefox's local storage to remember user preferences, such as:
  • Dark Mode and Clean Mode settings.
  • Pop-up handling preferences.
  • Selected language.
  • Toolbar display preferences.
  • Shortcut-opening behavior.

These settings remain within your browser and are not automatically transmitted to external servers by the extension.

The extension may also temporarily store a request to apply the public shipping coupon stannie20 in Kakobuy's session storage. This temporary request contains the coupon code and an expiry timestamp, not personal account information.
  1. QC Photos and Spreadfinds

When users voluntarily select the QC photos feature, Kakobuy+ opens a Spreadfinds search page containing the relevant product URL.

This may include product links originating from Taobao, Weidian, 1688, or Tmall, together with the public Kakobuy affiliate code stannie.

The product URL is transferred to Spreadfinds only when the user activates the relevant feature.

Kakobuy+ does not automatically transmit a continuous record of browsing activity or unrelated browsing history.

Once users visit Spreadfinds, the website's own privacy practices apply.
  1. Affiliate Links and Promotional Content

Kakobuy+ includes promotional links to Kakobuy and Spreadfinds.

Some Kakobuy links contain the affiliate code stannie. The developer may receive a commission from eligible referrals at no additional cost to the user.

The extension may also display a Spreadfinds promotional banner on supported Kakobuy pages. The promotional image is bundled locally with the extension.

Clicking promotional links is voluntary.

When users activate the shipping-coupon feature, Kakobuy+ may enter and submit the coupon through Kakobuy's normal website interface.
  1. Analytics and Tracking

The reviewed version of Kakobuy+ does not contain an extension-operated analytics SDK, tracking pixels, or background telemetry requests.

Kakobuy+ does not sell users' personal information or automatically transmit locally stored extension preferences to the developer.

Third-party websites opened through the extension may independently process information according to their own privacy policies.
  1. Browser Permissions

Kakobuy+ requests limited browser permissions for its functionality:
  • Kakobuy website access: To customize supported pages and provide shopping features.
  • Storage: To save user preferences locally.
  • Active Tab: To identify supported product URLs when users open the extension popup.
  • Browsing Activity data declaration: To disclose that a product-page URL may be transmitted when users voluntarily open QC results on Spreadfinds.

These permissions do not mean that Kakobuy+ continuously uploads users' browsing histories.
  1. Data Retention and User Control

Users can modify available preferences directly through the extension interface.

Users can choose not to use external links, QC photo tools, or promotional features.

Users may disable or uninstall Kakobuy+ through Firefox at any time.

Locally stored extension preferences generally remain on the device until the extension's data is cleared or the extension is removed.

Temporary coupon requests expire and are cleared when handled, where possible.
  1. Third-Party Services and Security

Kakobuy+ provides optional access to third-party services, including:
  • Kakobuy
  • Spreadfinds
  • Discord

Each service operates under its own privacy practices and may process information independently when users visit it.

Kakobuy+ uses locally bundled scripts and resources. We aim to minimize unnecessary data processing and exposure.

This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect changes in the extension's functionality, data processing, or applicable requirements.

The latest revision date will be displayed at the top of this document.
