About this extension
Turn sheet dimensions and a short cutting list into an inspectable layout, directly in a Firefox popup.
Enter your sheet width and height in millimetres, add rectangular piece types and quantities, then choose a gap between pieces. Allow 90-degree rotation separately for each type, or leave it off when grain direction or orientation matters. The bench tries twelve bounded layout variants and shows numbered pieces on as many sheets as needed.
Choose between a fewer-sheets layout and a larger-offcut preference. The offcut preference selects among layouts with the same lowest sheet count found; it does not open extra sheets just to create a large leftover. The largest remaining rectangle on the selected sheet is highlighted. Select any piece to see its dimensions, type, orientation and position.
Export the selected sheet as an SVG with millimetre dimensions. The export reflects the actual calculated arrangement. Pieces that cannot fit are listed explicitly rather than scaled or omitted silently.
Limits: 12 piece types, 80 total pieces; sheet and piece dimensions from 1 to 10,000 mm; gap from 0 to 100 mm. This is a practical heuristic, not a guarantee of globally optimal packing or a safety-certified cutting sequence. Piece numbers are identifiers, not cutting instructions. Gap applies between pieces, not as an outer margin. Always verify material, grain direction and printing scale before cutting.
Valid inputs stay in this browser using localStorage. Incomplete or invalid edits are not saved; the last valid project is retained. Clear the saved project from Storage & limits. No account, website reading, analytics, remote code or network requests.
