Keyword Reminder (“the Extension”) is designed to provide keyword-based reminders when users select text on web pages.
- Data Collection
The Extension does not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal data with any third party. - Data Storage
The Extension stores the following data locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local:
User-defined keyword entries (keyword -> reminder text)
Default reminder content for unmatched selections
Feature settings (such as auto-detection on/off)
This data remains on your device and is not uploaded to external servers.
- Website Access
The Extension runs on web pages to:
Read user-selected text (only after user selection)
Match selected text against locally stored keywords
Display reminder popups
The Extension does not track browsing history, keystrokes, or page content beyond what is required for this feature.
- Permissions Use
storage: Save user settings and keyword entries locally
contextMenus: Provide right-click menu trigger
scripting and host permissions: Inject and run reminder UI logic on pages where the user triggers the feature - Data Sharing
No user data is sold, rented, or shared with advertisers, analytics providers, or third parties. - Data Retention and Deletion
All data is controlled by the user and stored locally.
Users can delete data by:
Removing entries in the Extension UI
Uninstalling the Extension
Clearing browser extension storage
7. Children’s Privacy
The Extension is not specifically directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
