Kick Chat Translator: Live Chat Translation version history - 13 versions

  • Latest version

    Version 3.3.0

    Released Oct 16, 2026 - 452.06 KB
Works with firefox 121.0 and later
Typing with emotes works properly now. Tab completes Kick's and 7TV's emotes and @mentions instead of inserting the translation, emotes stay in your message when it is translated, and the preview no longer covers Kick's lists or the emote picker.

Translations are more accurate: brand and people names (iPhone, YouTube, LeBron) are no longer dropped before translating, and @mentions stay in translated messages.

Filters were reworked: the real Kick bots are ignored and you can add your own, "Hide messages containing" now also hides what is already on screen, and the lists can be typed in again.

The extension is lighter on every Kick page, and on Chrome the on-device engine is offered again when the target language is on Auto.

New and optional: anonymous daily usage statistics, off unless you say yes. They never contain your messages, names or channels.

    Version 3.2.0

    Released Oct 12, 2026 - 477.9 KB
Works with firefox 121.0 and later
The extension now speaks your language. The settings, the popup and the bar in the chat are translated into all 43 languages it translates into, not 10, and Hebrew and Persian read right to left, like Arabic.

The ten languages it already spoke were rewritten to read naturally, as if written in that language rather than translated word for word from English.

The interface language menu shows each language's flag, and works with the keyboard.

  • Version 3.1.0

    Released Oct 12, 2026 - 292.21 KB
Works with firefox 121.0 and later
Chat slang like ngl, idc, lmk, wyd or goat is now spelled out before it is translated, so readers in other languages get the meaning instead of the letters.

Words the engines kept getting wrong, such as valeu, yatta, coucou, forza and everyday greetings, now come from the extension's own table, in many more languages.

No more missing lines on a fast chat. A message written in another language than the ones around it is translated on its own instead of being dropped, and a short foreign line is no longer mistaken for English and hidden.

More accurate in more places: Arabic greetings are recognised as Arabic, Traditional Chinese stays traditional when translated on your device, and a reply keeps its @mention and link in Cantonese.

Lighter on your browser: the extension sleeps when no Kick tab is open and does less work per message on a busy chat. On Firefox, a tab can no longer translate every message twice after an update.

  • Version 3.0.2

    Released Oct 7, 2026 - 329.49 KB
Works with firefox 121.0 and later
The pause button on the chat bar now pauses only the channel you are watching. Before, it turned translation off on every channel and in every tab, until you switched it back on in the popup.

When the channel in your current tab is paused, the popup says so and offers a Resume button.

A Kick tab that was already open while the extension was installed or updated keeps translating. It used to stop until you reloaded the page.

After switching to another channel without reloading, translation stopped until you refreshed the page. It now follows the chat you are looking at.

Until your first translation, the popup opened outside Kick says to open a channel and offers a button that does.

The texts in the chat, the bar, the popup and the settings carry their accents again in French, Spanish, Portuguese and Turkish.

  • Version 3.0.1

    Released Sep 27, 2026 - 325.43 KB
Works with firefox 121.0 and later
The compose preview no longer covers the language chip under it, so you can change the language you write in while the preview is on screen.

The language list opened from the top bar stays inside its panel and scrolls, instead of running over the chat on some page layouts.

Chat notices (translation copied, every provider down, quota reached, provider switched) now appear in your interface language. They were always in English.

In the settings, the Activity tab is translated, the text size and line spacing sliders take the accent colour and are easier to grab, and the on-device model chips show each language's flag.

Clearer wording in the popup and the settings: the channel and user filters say allowed and blocked instead of whitelist and blacklist, and the extension has one name everywhere.

  • Version 3.0.0

    Released Sep 26, 2026 - 322.86 KB
Works with firefox 121.0 and later
Hide chat lines that contain a word you choose. Add keywords in the filter settings, one per line: a line containing one, in any case, disappears from the chat instead of being translated. Handy against bot commands like !fish that flood some channels.

Nine things the extension used to decide for you are yours now.
    • Text size, line spacing and typeface for the translated line, and how much air its block gets. The size multiplies whatever Kick gives the chat, so if you already enlarged Kick's own chat your choice is kept.
    • Accent colour, four of them, each measured for contrast rather than picked.
    • The chat theme pinned dark or light instead of following the channel.
    • A reading language remembered per channel.
    • Alt+T turns chat translation on or off, Alt+W the compose preview.

Tab swaps what you typed for its translation. It is taken only while the preview is on screen, so an empty box never loses it, and Shift+Tab always stays navigation.

The bar at the top of the chat translates what other viewers write; the chip at the bottom translates what you write. Nothing on screen said which was which. An arrow on each says it now.

Flags instead of two-letter codes, everywhere: on every translated line, on both bars, and in the language list.

The language panel shows which language is selected. It used to carry that on a background you could not tell apart from hover.

Language names stopped being cut. "Chinese (Taiwan)" was rendering as "Chinese (...", which you could not tell from "Chinese".

The settings page shows what each setting is doing. The cache says how many entries it holds, the per-channel budget says whether it ever held anything back, and the language list shows how much each language actually represented.

Since 2.9.2: Cantonese is the 43rd language, the source language sent to the translator is right three times more often and wrong 97 % less, and no language is left undetected any more. Twenty-six of them were.
