Kumo Tabs by Golga

A pixel-art new tab with a clock, live weather and animated Japanese landscapes that change with the seasons and time of day. It also watches your own web servers: uptime, latency, crons and outdated PHP, database or npm versions.

A NEW TAB WORTH OPENING
• Hand-made pixel-art backgrounds: a Sakura pagoda by a lake, or Mount Fuji with a torii, in four seasons, by day and by night.
• Gentle ambient motion: ripples on the water, twinkling stars, flickering lanterns, drifting petals, leaves or snow, birds by day and shooting stars at night.
• Weather effects: heavy or light rain, snow, sun or falling cherry petals, or Live mode, which follows the real weather and the real sunrise and sunset of your town.
• Your own photos: upload several pictures and they play as a random slideshow with smooth crossfades.
• Also available: solid colours, gradients, an image URL or a random photo.
• Widgets you can place anywhere on the page: greeting, clock, search bar and weather (temperature, feels-like, humidity, wind and a 3- or 5-day forecast).
• Dark or light theme, accent colour, fonts, text shadow, module cards, size, background dimming and blur.

SERVER MONITORING
• Watch as many web servers as you like, each with its own API token.
• Each card shows whether the server is up, degraded or down, its response time, application build, PHP, database and web server versions, disk, memory, load and cron jobs.
• Update checks compare every reported tool and package with its official releases and flag end-of-life branches, new LTS versions, patches and major upgrades.
• Results are cached, so a new tab shows the board instantly and servers are not called more often than the interval you choose.

Your server only needs a small endpoint that answers a GET request with a JSON report. The token is sent in a header, and the server stores only its SHA-256 hash: Kumo Tabs generates the token and shows the hash to copy.

PRIVACY
• No account, no analytics, no tracking. Everything stays in your browser's local storage, and you can export or import it as a backup file.
• Access to each server is requested only when you add it.
• The only other calls: Open-Meteo for the weather (the coordinates of the town you choose, only if you set one), endoflife.date, npm and Packagist for version checks, and Picsum if you pick random photos.
