Latest version
Version 2.0.2
Released Oct 11, 2026 - 123.19 KBWorks with firefox 140.0 and laterA substantial rewrite of kURL since version 1.1, bringing a full YOURLS management dashboard and more reliable browser integration.
Dashboard and link management
- View total links, clicks, top links, recent links, and connection status.
- Find short URLs by keyword or destination, inspect statistics, and create links with custom keywords and titles.
- Edit, regenerate, or delete links with confirmation using the optional server-side kURL Helper (1.1.6+).
Shortening tools
- Shorten and copy the current page, a link, or a selected URL from the toolbar or right-click menu.
- Recognize existing short links; generate and download QR codes locally.
- Process multiple URLs using the new Bulk tool.
- Unwrap recognized Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, and YouTube redirect links. This does not remove arbitrary tracking parameters such asutm_.
Privacy and reliability
- HTTPS-only YOURLS connections, user-approved server access, and time-limited SHA-256 API signatures. The original token stays in local storage.
- Test the connection before saving; clearer authentication errors and protection against saving outdated settings.
- Local activity log (last seven days, up to 100 entries), with TXT export. It records actions and outcomes, not URLs or tokens.
- Replaced broadtabspermission withactiveTab; no advertising, telemetry, or remote QR service.
Interface
- Ten language bundles, improved Arabic/Hebrew layout, and configurable copy confirmations.
- Version, contact, and optional donation links in the dashboard. All functions remain free.
Upgrading from 1.1: Existing extension identity and compatible settings are retained. Your YOURLS server must now support HTTPS. If authentication fails, copy the current API signature from YOURLS Admin → Tools and use “Test connection & save”. The previous default keyboard shortcut is no longer included.
Requires Firefox 140+ on desktop and your own HTTPS YOURLS server. Advanced management requires the optional kURL Helper.Source code released under MIT License
