LeechBlock NG by James Anderson

by Benjamin Bach, 8 years agoTHANKS! I've been a happy user of LeechBlock for about six months, and the NG version arrived just in time for Firefox 57 to come out. James Anderson, you're making me more productive and a happier person because I'm less exposed to the never-ending flow of bad news and nonsense of mass media... the guilty, non-focused 5-minute attention span of sudden twitter feed wrath... which I now block for most of the day. Hurray! Instead I can focus on reading more indepth news at appropriate times.
The NG (NextGen) version takes advantage of WebExtension features by appropriately reporting which data it needs access to and control over. This is a huge step forwards. It also installs faster and options panel seems more responsive.
I installed it and it worked first time -- I configured it, and it triggered first time I tried visiting a blocked site... without having to restart Firefox!
A few users have started reviewing a work-in-progress and complaining about features that are being developed or have arrived shortly after. You people should participate in development on Github instead.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 19003166, 5 days agoExcellent at blocking things that I didn't want to have access to. YouTube shorts, NSFW that I selected, only flaw is that it's easily disableable via the extensions manager. But that's something that's impossible to implement. The only thing you need is willpower, this is just a starter to it.

- Rated 5 out of 5by Vlance, 13 days agoI have been using this add - on for about 3 years or so. It has done wonders for me!. While I used it to block explicit sites and one needs to have self control to actually resist the urge to reset the add on.
Great for parents, allows them to control the media exposure early on if using a PC, 'Message from self' Feature is really good. I wrote bible verses for myslef to remind that I need to be holy and all my actions on the internet reflects my integrity to that commitment. - Rated 5 out of 5by Abhishek, 13 days ago
