About this extension
Lexigo is an instant, in-browser dictionary that makes reading online smoother and more enjoyable. Look up any word with a simple double click, or configure a trigger key (Ctrl, Alt, or Shift) to avoid accidental lookups.

Every lookup gives you:
- Up to five definitions, grouped by part of speech, with example sentences where available
- Pronunciation: phonetic transcription plus a speaker icon that plays a recording, or your browser's speech synthesis when none exists
- Nested lookups: double-click a word inside a popup to look that up too
- A Learn more link for a deeper dive
- Light/Dark mode: the popup follows your system theme

Lexigo can also keep a word history: every term you look up, saved with its definitions, giving you a personal library of words you have explored. Download it as a CSV at any time, ready for spreadsheets or flashcard apps, or reset it whenever you want to start fresh.

Lexigo currently supports English. Support for more languages is being explored.

Privacy, always: no tracking, no metrics, no accounts, no AI. Lookups go directly to a public dictionary service and nowhere else; your word history is stored locally in your browser and never leaves it.
