Notes and limitations
- The extension relies on LinkedIn’s current HTML structure. If the AI button doesn’t appear, refresh the page or scroll a bit to let it rescan. If LinkedIn changes the layout, update may be required.
- Media-only posts (image/video with no text) are skipped.
- Avoid rapidly clicking generate on many posts; your OpenAI account may rate-limit requests.
- Errors show briefly on the button. Hover to see the tooltip message.
Troubleshooting
- No AI button on posts:
- Hard refresh (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+R) after saving settings.
- Confirm the extension shows as Allowed on
linkedin.com
. - “Missing API key” or “Unauthorized”:
- Re-open the popup, re-paste a valid key, Save, refresh LinkedIn.
- “Model not found” or parameter errors:
- Switch the model in the popup, Save, refresh LinkedIn.
- “No editor”:
- Click the post’s Comment button once, then click AI Comment again.
- Still stuck:
- Open the page console (Cmd/Ctrl+Opt/Alt+K) to view “[AI-Comment] …” logs, or share the error text with support.
Publishing and sharing
- You can install from AMO (Firefox Add-ons) if listed, or the developer can distribute an unlisted, signed build. Users simply install and configure their own API keys in the popup.
