by B Tang, 6 years agoWorks well. With about:config browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground set to true, when you Ctrl-click a bookmarks folder, the tabs all open but don't load until you select them. However, if the option to prefetch page to retrieve favicon and title is selected, it loads the html for all the tabs at the same time, which can cause problems if there are a lot of tabs. An improvement would be to have this option prefetch only a few tabs at a time ( similar to load tabs sequentially / Load Background Tabs Lazily / Open All Slowly ).

What it does is hold your tabs hostage - it replaces tab address with a text string which is only understood by this addon.
If anything happens to this addon - consider all your tabs gone, they will not load anymore. Even if you re-activtae or re-install the addon, this won't solve the problem, the tabs will still not load!
Same thing will happen if the addon becomes incompatible with the future FF releases - you will lose all your tabs.
I am writing this looking at multiple dead tabs which I can't load anymore after de-activating and then re-activating this addon... - Rated 5 out of 5by Ahmed, 2 years ago

You are allowed to turn off the prefetch from the addons page options tab. This allows me to queue multiple webpage loads from the same domain without actually loading them all at once. This allows me to not be seen as a bot downloading a bunch of pages at the same time.
The greatly-reduced permissions compared to LoadTabOnSelect 3 is also much appreciated!
As a programmer myself, I also checked the installed files for any outward fetch requests. There is an unactivatable fetch GET request to httpbin used in a flag-restricted debug mode, and that's it. In other words, since it doesn't try to make a fetch request, it isn't trying to send any data anywhere or get your IP address. In other words, it can be trusted with its permissions.
Thanks, Un Crevard - Rated 5 out of 5by Jean-Ricky, 3 years agoan alternative to LoadTabOnSelect
• which does NOT require reload (F5) after having reopened last closed tab (Ctrl+Shitf+T)
• with minimal set of permissions
thx - Rated 2 out of 5by Galmok, 5 years agoOften, when clicking buttons that open new pages (in new tabs), this addons intercepts the page open request and backgrounds the page right away, and refuses to activate the page. Have to copy the URL, open a tab manually, and paste the URL, to open the page. This just completely ruins the usefulness of this addon.

You took an old abandoned add-on, you forked it, and you improved it. So you deserve 5 stars! Thank you and congratulations. - Rated 3 out of 5by YFdyh000, 6 years ago
- Rated 2 out of 5by ~AR, 6 years agoClears forms when loading a new tab with submitted data and hangs when opening a new tab from link (right-click option menu). Frequently requires going back to previous tab and then back to new tab before it will load new tab. Works well on certain things, but kills my work flow when opening tabs for business applications. Wish it worked as advertised. :(
