Lumitab Glass by luminus

A lightweight, frosted-glass new tab page for Firefox, made with Nix and NixOS users in mind, especially nixpkgs contributors.

Features

• Clock and date in your system timezone, or any timezone you choose
• Search with Google, DuckDuckGo, NixPkgs, GitHub and Wikipedia, plus your own engines (any site with a search URL containing %s)
• A dock of your favorite links, with uploadable icons, reordering and editing
• GitHub contribution count and a year-long activity heatmap for any username. Add an optional read-only token to include private contributions
• nixpkgs pull request list with open and merged tabs
• Four themes: Catppuccin Mocha, Nord, Gruvbox and Everforest
• Soft theme glow or your own wallpaper, with a dim slider
• Optional "now playing" card with a spinning album cover (Linux only, needs a small helper, see below)

Now playing (optional, off by default)

Shows what your local media player is playing. This needs a small helper program that reads playerctl, available from the project page: https://github.com/hosea-joveldy/lumitab/tree/main/glass. Without the helper, the rest of the extension works normally.

Privacy

Your settings, dock, wallpaper and token stay in your browser. Your GitHub username (and token, if you add one) is sent only to GitHub. Search queries go only to the search engine you choose. Nothing is sent to the developer, and there is no analytics.

Note

This extension replaces the new tab page. If another extension also controls it, only one will take effect.
