About this extension
Fit more website content on your Mac with an immediate page-size slider, black Firefox chrome, and a fullscreen shortcut. This extension cannot remove the physical notch or reclaim the strip beside it reserved by macOS.
Version 1.0.4 fixes the bottom pixel slider: you can set and save pixels while the safe area is off. A clear status shows whether the preference is saved, waiting for the player’s fullscreen mode, or applied.
Limits: page zoom changes website content, not Firefox’s toolbar or the macOS menu bar. The extension cannot draw into the macOS-reserved camera strip, detect notch dimensions, or unlock pixels behind the camera. Safe-area injection cannot adjust protected Firefox/Mozilla pages or the built-in PDF viewer. If macOS already keeps your player below the camera, leave the extra safe area off or at zero.
Privacy: no analytics, data collection, remote code, accounts or background network requests. Extension settings and the prior theme stay locally in Firefox. Website zoom uses Firefox’s built-in preferences. Optional website access is requested only for sites whose fullscreen safe area you explicitly enable.
Requires Firefox 142 or newer; version 1.0.4 tested on Firefox 157.0 on macOS. At 80% zoom, the test page fit over 20% more content vertically. Physical MacBook camera appearance remains controlled by macOS.

Version 1.0.4 fixes the bottom pixel slider: you can set and save pixels while the safe area is off. A clear status shows whether the preference is saved, waiting for the player’s fullscreen mode, or applied.
- Page size (new in 1.0.3): drag the slider to change Firefox’s actual website zoom during ordinary browsing or browser fullscreen. Try 90% or 80% to fit more content with smaller text, images and controls. Reset to 100% restores standard size. The popup reads your existing zoom and changes it only when you choose. Firefox normally remembers zoom for each website across reloads and future visits; private browsing or custom zoom settings may behave differently. No website-access permission is needed for zoom.
- Black browser chrome: blend the tabs and toolbar into black with readable controls. Enabled on installation; switch it off to restore the saved theme. Applies to all Firefox windows.
- Browser fullscreen: enter or leave fullscreen from the popup or with Command + Shift + Y on Mac. Move the pointer to the top edge to reveal the toolbar.
- Optional fullscreen safe area: enable it on a website, allow Firefox’s optional access to that site, then use the website’s player fullscreen button. The separate pixel slider adds 0–80 CSS pixels of black space inside that player. Lower values remove added space; zero removes the extension’s strip. This reduces the player’s content area when above zero and does not shrink macOS’s notch strip. Site choices and pixels are remembered across reloads and future visits. Turn it off to remove the site setting and optional permission. Some embedded or unusually styled players may not respond correctly. The pixel slider remains adjustable while off, so you can save a preference first. Its status shows Off, Waiting for player fullscreen, Applied, or a reload instruction for an older page script.
