About this extension
RTL Select flips the direction of text you select on any page.
Select text the way you normally would — double-click a word, triple-click
a paragraph, or drag with the mouse. A small icon appears just above your
cursor; click it to switch that selection to right-to-left. Click again to
send it back to left-to-right, and once more to restore the page's original
direction.
Converting a selection to right-to-left also right-aligns the paragraph it
sits in, and restores that paragraph's original alignment when you convert
it back.
You can also select text and press Alt+Shift+R, or use the toolbar button,
which shows the current direction of the selection and lets you set one
directly or reset it.
Why: mixed-direction pages are common — code samples, translated articles,
messages in other scripts, transliterated names — and there is usually no
quick way to read a fragment in the other direction without editing the pageby hand.
Privacy: this add-on requests no permissions, makes no network requests, and
stores nothing. All changes are made directly in the page's DOM and are
reversible at any time.
Note: converting a selection changes its rendering direction only; it does not
translate or reorder the characters themselves.
