by Buckley, 2 years agoCan you enable the issues tab on the github page? I'll ask my question here for now :)
What does the pin on the far right mean? If i click on it it disappears but nothing further happens (as far as I can tell).
Also tried a lot of them and this one works and is innovative.

Edit: Discussed on a GitHub issue. I determined current behaviour to be unclear and have now replaced it in v1.12. The new 'refresh' button replaces your keywords with ones from your current search.

- Rated 4 out of 5by minnie :3, 25 days agohi, VERY COOL, but one suggestion. i don't want it to always highlight and show the toolbar by default. i want the option to have it only show up when toggled, but every search i do whether it be google or youtube triggers the toolbar. maybe i missed something, but i see no settings to change this? only reason i did 4/5 stars and not 5/5

posted 25 days agoHi, thanks!
If you want the highlighting to *only be manually activated*:
1. Go to the popup (toolbar > click Mark My Search icon (may be in the Extensions list))
2. Uncheck "Detect search engines".
If you want the highlighting to be *extracted from the search but hidden*:
1. Go to settings (toolbar > click Mark My Search icon (may be in the Extensions list) > click Options)
2. Uncheck these settings:
- ["Visibility when highlighting search engine keywords"]: "Highlights begin visible"
- ["When to collapse the toolbar immediately"]: "Started from a search"
3. Save your changes by scrolling to the bottom and clicking "Save". - Rated 5 out of 5by Display Name, 5 months ago

It's good so far, it would be nice to have the option of changing the shortcut from Alt + M and also the highlighted colours.
Thank you for the extension.Developer response
posted 8 months agoThanks for the thought!
All the shortcuts can be changed, just follow the steps in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/manage-extension-shortcuts-firefox, then click on the shortcut for 'Find in current tab' and type a new one.
To change the colours:
Open the popup with the Mark My Search icon (in the toolbar or in the extensions list)
Click 'Open options'
Find the comma-separated numbers list. These are the hue values for colours. For example, 300 is purple and 360 or 0 is red. Edit these however you like.
Press Enter (or the Save button) to save you changes
I'm sorry it's complicated at the moment. The next version will make it easier :) - Rated 5 out of 5by avid_ff_user, a year agoThis is such a cool tool. I don't know why it has so few installs on Firefox.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Maik, a year agoIt works, except for Google Translate. Every time you type something to translate it auto marks everything by the extension. Any solution to this?

Edit: Thank you very much - It worked.Developer response
posted a year agoHi, thanks for the feedback. Luckily this can be worked around:
1. Open the addon's popup (click the Mark My Search icon in the top-right, or if it's not there, find it by clicking the jigsaw button).
2. At the bottom, click Highlight.
3. Under [Sites to Not Detect As Search Engines], type "translate.google.com", then close the popup.
Hope this helps! - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18085756, a year ago

posted a year agoThank you! I have restarted work on the add-on, and it won't be long before the customisation and stability is even better. - Rated 1 out of 5by Deaca, 2 years ago

posted 2 years agoI'm glad you like it! SearchWP was my inspiration for this add-on. More updates are coming to improve existing features and make it more reliable than ever (: - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 15127677, 2 years agoI am waiting for this add-on for long-time! Good job and thank you so much!
Sometimes I need to maintain the on-page search-bar (and the same keywords) to search in different tabs. But the on-page search-bar did not automatic show-up when I select another tab. I know Alt-Shift-M can force it to show-up, but the previous keywords would be lost in this situation. Could you make a option to maintain the on-page search-bar (and the previous keywords) in cross-tab searching? (Always turn-on on-page search-bar mode?) Thank you so much!Developer response

Thank you for raising 'global search' to my attention. You can see my plans for it here:

Unfortunately I probably won't add the feature for a few months due to exam pressure. In the meantime, you could try using the 'keyword lists' feature for long searches: open the popup, click "Keyword Lists", type any name, then type in each keyword. On each tab you can press "Highlight in current tab" to highlight those keywords. Removes much of the frustration of search. Big time saver. Tons of keyboard shortcuts to get even faster & fully customizable as well.Developer response
