About this extension
Max turns every new tab into your own start page. Choose the blocks you need, put them where you want them, and what you use most is one click away the moment you open a tab.
DESIGN IT YOURSELF
• Choose from more than 50 blocks and set each one up with a live preview.
• Resize, group and rearrange blocks in the designer. No code needed.
• Spread your blocks over several pages, and put groups in tabs.
• Light or dark, your own accent colour, and a colour or photo as background.
• Not sure where to start? Begin with a ready-made example page.
BLOCKS FOR EVERY DAY
• Productivity: clock, calendar, to-do list, task board, notes in Markdown, countdowns, timer, stopwatch, workday progress and time tracking.
• Information: news from sources such as the BBC and The Guardian, weather, live sports scores, RSS feeds, YouTube channels, system and network details, API monitoring.
• Navigation: your own links, your bookmarks or most visited sites, search, travel times.
• Right-click any web page to add it to your links.
• Creativity: images, embedded websites, internet radio with your own stations, your Spotify playlists and podcasts, QR codes, a password generator, hashes and encoding, dice and a word game.
• Developers: Mendix apps, environments and versions, and Azure DevOps search, sprints and work items.
• Scrum masters: the sprint goal, a sprint compass that tells you whether you will make it, velocity, flow, backlog health, what is standing still, and a sprint review with questions for the retro, all from Azure DevOps.
• For the Netherlands: KNMI weather warnings, outdoor alerts, a pollen calendar, postcode lookup, rush hour forecasts and traffic jams, roadworks, NS travel options and disruptions, and what a station has.
FIND ANYTHING
Press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) to search your blocks, links, tasks and notes in one go. It does sums too. Working with Mendix? Type "mx" in the address bar to jump straight to a project or environment.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No account, no sign-up.
• No tracking, no ads, no analytics.
• What you put in Max stays in this browser, on your device. Nothing is synced to a server.
• Take your pages to another browser or computer with a backup file.
• Blocks that show online information, such as weather or a feed, contact that service directly, and only once you add them. Only the NS blocks (travel options, disruptions and station) and the roadworks come through toolbox.rocks, a server run by the maker of Max. It gets at most your stations or your map area for that, and nothing else. From November 2026 the KNMI weather alerts come through toolbox.rocks as open data as well, but nothing of yours goes there for them. With your own NS key, the travel options block asks NS itself.
PERMISSIONS
• Your bookmarks and most visited sites: so a Links block can show them, and change your bookmarks when you ask it to. They stay in the browser.
• Anything more, such as your history, your open tabs or access to a website, Max asks for only when you switch on the feature that needs it.
IN YOUR LANGUAGE
Max speaks English, Dutch, German, French and Turkish, and follows the language of your browser.

My dream was to build an application like this. I love it that I was able to make my dream come true.
