About this extension
MCP Browser Bridge connects website tabs in your regular Firefox to a compatible local MCP client.
Choose your access mode:
• Manual approval (default): approve or revoke individual tabs.
• Automatic access (optional): explicitly allow access to all current and future HTTP/HTTPS website tabs. This choice persists across restarts and can be disabled in the toolbar popup.
There is no built-in tab-count limit. Private windows, browser-internal pages and Firefox-protected pages are excluded.
Supports page snapshots and form interactions. File uploads remain manual. No cookie copying, login bypass or CAPTCHA solving.
Privacy: accessible page content and form values pass to the local MCP client. This may include sensitive personal information. Your chosen AI client may send that content to its provider. Automatic mode therefore requires an explicit warning acknowledgement and Firefox website permissions.
Requires Firefox 140+ and the free companion native host. Linux is the currently tested platform. Installing the extension alone is not sufficient.
