MeetING Attendance by Akshay Pant
Runs inside your online class (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, Webex), reads the participant list, marks attendance, and syncs sessions to your web dashboard.
Extension Metadata
About this extension
Store listing text for addons.mozilla.org (AMO).
Track attendance automatically inside Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, Webex and Whereby. Mark students present or absent in real time, export CSV, and optionally sync each session to your own dashboard.
Meet Attendance takes the busywork out of online-class roll calls.
Open your class and press Ctrl+M. A floating panel reads the live participant list and marks every student on your roster as Present or Absent - as people join and leave.
WORKS WHERE YOU TEACH
- Google Meet
- Zoom (web)
- Microsoft Teams
- Cisco Webex
- Whereby
- Generic fallback for other in-browser meeting tools
KEY FEATURES
- Live attendance: Present and Absent counts update automatically while the class runs.
- Your roster: paste your student list once. It is saved locally and reused next time.
- Smart name matching: case, spacing and punctuation are ignored, so "SHAURYA SINGH" matches "Sh Aurya Singh".
- Join and leave times: every student gets a timestamp and duration.
- 5-minute log: a snapshot records who joined, who left and whether attendance stayed consistent.
- CSV export: download meeting_attendance.csv at the end of class.
- Session reset: start clean for the next meeting.
- Dark or light panel: pick the theme that suits you.
- Debug report: a one-click diagnostic shows exactly what the scanner sees.
- Draggable panel: move it anywhere so it never covers the meeting toolbar.
IMPORTANT: open the meeting app's People or Participants panel yourself. Off-screen participants are only detected when that panel is open.
OPTIONAL DASHBOARD SYNC
The add-on works fully offline. If you want a permanent record, create a free account on the companion website and paste your Server URL and API token into the extension popup. Sync sends the session to your own dashboard, auto-syncs every 5 minutes, updates the same session instead of creating duplicates, and runs a final sync when you leave.
PRIVACY
- Roster and attendance are stored in your browser using the extension storage API.
- No analytics, no tracking and no third-party services.
- No network requests are made unless you configure a server URL and token.
- When sync is enabled, the roster and attendance details you choose to sync are sent only to the server you specify.
HOW TO USE
1. Install the add-on and pin its toolbar icon.
2. Open the popup, paste your student list and click Save.
3. Join your class and press Ctrl+M.
4. Open the meeting's People/Participants panel.
5. Click Start monitoring and teach.
6. At the end, export a CSV or click Sync to server.
