Privacy Policy — Mijuru Wallpapers browser extension
Effective date: 28 October 2026. Last updated: 29 October 2026.
Mijuru Wallpapers ("the extension") is the official browser extension of mijuru.com for Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Opera and Firefox. It lets you browse and search wallpapers, show one on your New Tab page and open a wallpaper's page on mijuru.com to download it. In short: the extension does not collect any personal data, and there is no account or sign-up.
Information we collect
The extension does not collect personal information. There is no registration, no login and no user profile. The extension itself contains no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it does not set any cookies.
Data stored by the extension
- Settings and favourites: your settings (theme, language, New Tab options, auto-change) and the IDs of wallpapers you liked or added to favourites are kept in the browser's own extension storage. The sync part of that storage may be synchronised across your devices by your browser's own sync (your Mozilla account in Firefox). That synchronisation is performed by the browser; the developer never receives this data.
- Cache: wallpaper metadata and the current and next New Tab image are cached locally on your device only.
Network requests
The extension connects only to mijuru.com: anonymous GET requests to the public content API (/api/browser/v1) that include your chosen interface language, and image loads from mijuru.com. As with any internet service, mijuru.com's servers may process standard technical request data such as your IP address, as described in the main site Privacy Policy (https://mijuru.com/privacy-policy). The extension does not send data to any other party.
Links to mijuru.com
Wallpapers are downloaded on the website: the Download button, the wallpaper title and its thumbnail on the New Tab page open the wallpaper's page on mijuru.com in a browser tab. These links carry utm_* tags that tell the site the visit came from the extension, which browser it runs in and which button was clicked. The tags contain no personal data and no identifiers of you or your device. Once the page is open you are on the website, where the main site Privacy Policy (https://mijuru.com/privacy-policy) applies, including the site's analytics.
Permissions
- storage: to save your settings, favourites and cache.
- alarms: to run the New Tab auto-change schedule.
- search: the New Tab search box passes your query to the browser's default search engine; the extension never sees the results.
- Host access to https://mijuru.com/* only: to load wallpapers from mijuru.com. The extension has no access to your browsing history, your tabs or any other site.
No remote code
All code of the extension ships inside the extension package. It does not load or run code from remote servers.
Data sharing
We do not sell or share any data with third parties.
Removing your data
Removing the extension deletes its local data from your browser. Data synchronised by the browser is removed through your browser's sync controls.
Children's privacy
The extension is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect data from anyone.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy; changes will be posted on https://mijuru.com/browser-extension-privacy-policy with a new effective date.
