Privacy policy for MindEase - Adaptive Learning
Effective date: October 9, 2026
MindEase is an adaptive learning browser extension. This policy explains the information MindEase processes, why it is processed, and the controls available to users.
Depending on the features a user enables, MindEase may process:
- Text and other visible content from webpages or PDF documents selected for adaptation
- Website URLs, page titles, page types, and tab classifications
- Learning-session interactions, including highlights, pauses, skipped sections, reading duration, and session activity
- Learning preferences, accessibility preferences, preferred language, and learner-provided descriptions of learning needs
- Notes, study cards, generated explanations, diagrams, session reviews, and saved learning materials
- Account information such as an email address and authentication session when optional cloud storage is selected
- User-provided API keys and server configuration
- Images submitted by the user for OCR or visual explanation
This information is used to:
- Structure and adapt learning material
- Generate explanations, diagrams, OCR results, speech, and study resources
- Maintain active learning sessions
- Save learner preferences and lesson assets
- Suggest gradual presentation changes between sessions
- Synchronize data when the user explicitly selects authenticated cloud storage
- Diagnose operational failures and protect the reliability of the service
MindEase does not use learning signals to make medical diagnoses.
MindEase uses local browser storage by default. Locally stored information remains in the browser until the user deletes it, resets the extension, or removes the extension.
When the user explicitly selects cloud storage, authenticated lesson information and profile data may be stored using MindEase's configured cloud services. Users can export or delete learner data through the MindEase
dashboard.
API keys entered through the extension interface are stored in local extension storage. They are used to authenticate requests to the corresponding provider.
When a user accepts an adaptation or uses a connected feature, relevant information may be transmitted to the configured MindEase backend or external providers, which may include DeepSeek, Napkin, OCR.space, Azure, Supabase,
and other services selected by the user.
Only information needed to perform the requested feature is sent. External providers process information under their own privacy policies and retention terms.
MindEase does not sell personal information.
Information is shared only with service providers needed to deliver a feature selected by the user, comply with legal obligations, or protect the security and reliability of the service.
Users can:
- Decide whether to accept a content adaptation
- Choose which open tabs are included in session tracking
- Use local storage instead of cloud storage
- Configure or remove API keys
- Export stored learner data
- Delete local and cloud learner data from the dashboard
- Stop a learning session or disable the extension
MindEase uses browser extension isolation, authenticated HTTPS services, and sanitization of rendered content. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, and users should avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive
information.
This policy may be updated when MindEase features or service providers change. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date.
