We’ve been listening to your feedback and are excited to bring you another round of updates to Focus Mode, making it even easier for you to get into the flow and stay there. We also added pinning notes and note previews to Notes. Plus many more fixes and improvements.

Fixed an issue which could cause a redundant migration of some links to the new version if there were errors during the initial migration.

Links v2 is now available to all Free users! Your Links app has received a visual update, and now has a tile link mode. You can also now pin links directly to your dashboard for a more streamlined experience. For more detailed info on the update, please see our v2.8 release notes.

Create crosslinks between your notes to capture, develop, and organize your ideas in Notes.

Imagine your notes evolving into an extension of your mind. Where your ideas, insights, and concepts seamlessly connect and flourish.

You can now use two-way note linking to connect your ideas and build up your own personal knowledge system (or "second brain") in Momentum.

If you're building a second brain or creating a "zettelkasten" system, two-way linking in Momentum Notes allows you to:

Adapt and evolve your ideas. Quickly update links to reflect new discoveries, evolving theories or shifts in perspective.
Ignite your creativity. Two-way linking nurtures ideas by fostering connections. As thoughts collide, your mind becomes a breeding ground for conceptual cross-pollination and innovation.
Provide structure & context. With two-way linking, you can see how different ideas relate to each other, uncover patterns, and grasp the underlying structure of your knowledge.

Creating a note link

Simply type [[ to create a new linked note or link to an existing note. You can also highlight text and click the two-way link icon.

The note link popup will appear, where you can choose to create a new linked note or link to an existing note.

Creating a new linked note

Type [[ to bring up the link note controls.
Type the name of the note you would like to create.
Click the "+ New note" row with your new note name inline.
A new linked note is created! You can now click the linked note to go to that note, and the backlink will show below the title.

Linking to an existing note

Type [[ to bring up the link note controls.
As you continue to type, your existing notes matching what you've typed will appear as options to link.
Click the note you'd like to link.

Note: You can also navigate the note link popup using your keyboard.
Using backlinks

When you link to a note, a backlink is automatically created on the linked note.

The backlink shows at the top under the title, making it easy to navigate between connections.

🔗 Links v2

- We have completely rewritten the Links app. This enables us to build new features faster and also for the app to work better and more reliably. We also gave Links a bit of a visual refresh, and added some new features while we were at it!
- Tile links: Show links as bigger items with an icon and label or tile.
- Pinned links: Pin links directly to the dashboard to streamline your workflow. Works for both list links and tile links.
- Links v2 is currently available to Plus users while we work out any kinks. When we're sure there will be no problems in the transition, we'll roll out it out to the entire user base.
- PS: Our new drag to reorder is super smooth. Try drag to reorder in tile mode for extra oohs and aahs.
