MRM Tab Highlighter by Mohammed Ridha Mohammed Mohammed
Color and tag your tabs by website address. Set a rule once for a whole domain, a subdomain or an exact host, and every matching tab shows its color and tag in the tab icon and title, e.g. 🟥 [PROD].

About this extension
Tab Highlighter helps you tell sites apart at a glance – production vs. test, client A vs. client B – by coloring and tagging tabs based on their website address.
HOW IT WORKS
- Right-click any page, click the toolbar icon, or press Alt+Shift+H to open the editor for the current site.
- Choose the level: for x.p.host.it you can pick x.p.host.it, p.host.it or host.it.
- Choose the match: "this host and all its subdomains" or "this exact host only".
- Pick a color (presets or any custom color) and/or a tag such as PROD, TEST or Client A.
- Quick-color presets are also available directly in the right-click menu.
SMART RULES
- A rule on p.host.it covers p.host.it and x.p.host.it, but never the higher level host.it.
- Every page path of a matching host is included.
- When several rules match, the most specific one wins.
- Color and tag are resolved separately, so host.it can give the tag while p.host.it gives the color.
WHAT YOU SEE
- Colored tab icon with the tag's first letter (or the site icon with a color ring).
- Color mark and tag at the start of the tab title, e.g. 🟥 [PROD] My App.
- Optional: matching tabs grouped into a tab group named after the tag (on Firefox versions that support tab groups for extensions).
- Optional: a colored bar or frame and a tag label on the page.
MANAGE EVERYTHING IN ONE PLACE
- Edit, enable/disable and delete all rules in a single table.
- Test any URL to see which rule applies.
- Import and export your rules as JSON to share them with your team.
PRIVACY
Tab Highlighter collects no data and sends nothing anywhere. Your rules are stored only in your browser's own storage. The "access your data for all websites" permission is used only to read each tab's address and draw the color and tag on matching sites.
